Abstract:
A cannula assembly comprises a connection housing 2 having a through passageway 4 for the passage therethrough of a puncture needle 22 and a side limb 8 in communication with the passageway 4. The side limb 8 accommodates a pressure sensor 10. A flexible cannula tube 1 for insertion into a patient is connected to one end of the passageway 4.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A blood pressure cuff is applied about a subect's artery, and inflated above the systolic level thus fully occluding the artery for a full heart cycle. The cuff pressure is thereafter reduced to permit an increasing flow through the progressively less occluded artery, and a measure of the peak amplitudes of the successively encountered blood pressure (oscillatory complex) pulses stored in memory. Also retained is the cuff pressure obtaining for each stored complex peak. In accordance with varying aspects of the present invention, the stored complex peak-representing data ensemble is corrected for aberrations; and improved data processing operates on the stored (and advantageously corrected) pulse peak data and the corresponding cuff pressure information to determine the subject's systolic arterial blood pressure.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A blood pressure measuring device has a probe (1) having at the bottom thereof a blood flow sound detector (3) to be pushed to the skin over an artery to be examined. The probe (1) which comprises a hollow elastic body of a size to cover the width of the arter is airtightly and removably connected by a connecting member (5) to a pressure gauge (2). The connecting member (5) has enough elasticity to restore to the original shape thereof.
Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting myocardial ischemia which monitors the systemic vascular resistance of the subject and which indicates the presence of myocardial ischemia when the systemic vascular resistance increases by at least sixty per cent over a base line value. An invasive pressure measuring apparatus uses a flexible catheter tube (20), insertable into an artery of the subject, and a micro-manometer embedded (28) into the wall at the distal tip (20b) of the catheter tube. The outer face of the embedded micro-manometer is directly exposed to the blood in the artery and the inner face of the embedded micro-manometer is covered by the catheter tube wall.
Abstract:
A sphygmomanometer measures blood pressure inclusive a systolic and diastolic blood pressure values, pulse rate and atmospheric temperature prevailing at the time of measurement. The sphygmomanometer includes a memory (17) for storing plural sets of information relating to measured blood pressure together with time information relating to the times at which the measurements were taken, and a printer (26) for generating a graph having a time axis and an axis for information relating to blood pressure. The printer graphically records systolic and diastolic blood pressure values that prevailed at the time of measurement, connects these two values with a line segment and graphically records pulse rate and atmospheric temperature that prevailed at the time of measurement on the time axis together with the corresponding systolic and diastolic blood pressure values.
Abstract:
A measure of diastolic blood pressure is provided by the product of HR and TT wherein HR is a measured heart beat rate and TT is an elapsed time between emission of an electrocardiographic R wave and arrival of the consequent blood pressure pulse at a chosen blood vessel. Apparatus is disclosed for sensing HR and TT and displaying a value or index of diastolic blood pressure, which is hand held and includes a chronometer mode.
Abstract:
A disposable blood pressure transducer system for use with a catheter with or without a catheter flush/flow valve. The transducer housing has both electrical and fluid connections, with the electrical connections being protected from contamination by fluid.
Abstract:
A patient monitor (21) for monitoring body condition information such as blood PO 2 /oxygen tension comprises means (2) for converting an electrical analogue signal representing body condition information detected by a sensor (1) into digital measurement value data at a predetermined time, means for taking (4) summary data out of the measurement values and storing (6) the summary data and means (4) for editing summary data stored in accordance with an output instruction and outputting (9) the edited summary data. Thus, the invention is useful in examining information on the condition of a body and leads to savings in the amount of recording paper used, as well as facilitating its storage.
