Abstract:
The present invention relates to a processing means for barking machines of the type having a plurality of swinging arms (11), each being at an inner end pivotally mounted on a rotatable, annular rotator, while at an opposite outer free end, they carry such a processing means and are actuated by a spring load which strives to pivot the outer end inwards to the axis of rotation of the rotator. The processing means comprises a front (1), a rear (2), an upper (3) and a lower (4) surface, which are designed in such manner that an edge serving as a processing edge is defined between the front (1) and the upper (3) surface. The lower surface (4) is formed with an engaging means (8) which is adapted to engage a matching formation (14) in a seat (12) in the outer end of the swinging arm. The rear surface (2) acts as a supporting surface which serves to abut against a corresponding swinging arm supporting surface (16) which is directed forwards or obliquely forwards against the direction of feed of the logs. The engaging means comprises a ridge (8) or a groove and is rectilinear and elongate in such manner that its total length exceeds its height or depth, and preferably also its width, at least by a factor ten. The engaging means (8) further extends at an acute angle of at least 10° in relation to the rear surface (2).
Abstract:
In the positioning system for an operating cylinder (1), a valve or a set of valves (6; 10, 11) comprises means for allowing a free supply of hydraulic fluid from a pump fluid chamber (8) of a pump cylinder (7) into an operating fluid chamber (2) of the operat ing cylinder (1), for preventing the back flow of hydraulic fluid from the operating fluid chamber (2) into the pump fluid chamber (8) when the hydraulic fluid pressure on the control side (A) rises above a predetermined pressure limit, and for allowing a free back flow of hydraulic fluid from the operating fluid chamber (2) into the pump fluid chamber (8) when the hydraulic fluid pressure on the control side (A) goes below the predetermined pressure limit. An operating piston rod (3) follows closely the movement of a pump piston rod (9), and the valve or the set of valves (6; 10, 11) prevents pressure fluctuations from transmitting from the operating side (B) to the control side (A). The system can be used for instance in a hole-rotor- type barking machine (16) for positioning the operating cylinders of barking blades (17). The system can also be used for positioning the operating cylinders (1) operating the gripping jaws (19) of a hydraulic gripper (18) of a machine. Furthermore, the system can preferably be used for positioning the operating cylinders of pusher shafts, lift booms and articulated knuckle booms of a machine.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for handling logs (6) to be debarked so that the surface of the logs is torn or cut by means of blades (15) moving under the logs in relation to the logs, said blades projecting upwards from the bottom (13) carrying the logs. The direction of the mutual cutting motion between the logs and the blades deviates from the longitudinal direction of the logs. The blades (15) and the logs (6) are moved in relation to each other so that for part of the time the logs are out of contact with the blades, higher up than the cutting edges of the blades, and for part of the time the logs are in contact with the cutting edges of the blades.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a debarking drum (1) for the debarking of wood (2), including an essentially horizontal cylindrical drum (10), which is supported to revolve around its longitudinal axis, which drum (10) includes : a first end (12) and a second end (14), debarking iron sections (16) adapted in the drum (10), and bark openings (20) adapted on the inner surface (18) of the drum (10), studs (22) adapted on the inner surface (18) of the drum (10) between said debarking iron sections (16) to break the bark (3) of the wood (2) for the debarking of the wood (2), which studs (22) are adapted in connection with the first end (12) of the drum (10) on a partial length (L) of the length of the drum (10) between the first end (12) and the second end (14). The invention also relates to a method and system for the debarking of wood by means of the debarking drum.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for debarking logs or preparing logs for separately performed debarking - especially logs (1) that are difficult to debark - the apparatus comprising a number of blades (11), the blades being arranged to cut or tear the bark of the logs (1) to be treated transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the logs, in order to facilitate the peeling of the bark, and especially its peeling as pieces of suitable size during the said preparation or the subsequent actual debarking treatment. The apparatus comprises a drum (3) rotated about its central axis (2), through which drum the logs (1) to be treated are fed, and inside the surface limited by the cylindrical inner sleeve (4) of which drum (3) is arranged to project a number of blades (11). The blades are arranged to cut or tear the surface of the logs (1) to be treated by the effect of the mutual movement of the drum (3) and the logs (1). On the inner sleeve (4) of the drum (3) is provided a through hole (20) for each blade (11), which means that the blades are arranged to be replaced on the outside of the drum (3).
