    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test method for evaluating the creep resistance of the surface of an optical recording medium with good reproducibility, high efficiency, and high accuracy.SOLUTION: The test method includes a load step in which an optical recording medium 1 is placed on a smooth pedestal 13, a nonwoven cloth 2 is put thereon, and the optical recording medium 1 is subjected to a predetermined load for a predetermined time through the nonwoven cloth 2. Before and after the load step, recording and reproducing characteristics of the optical recording medium 1 are measured, to thereby evaluate the creep resistance of the surface of the optical recording medium. In the load step, the optical recording medium 1 is heated.
