Abstract:
Method of authentication in a system comprising two entities communicating between themselves by way of a network, a first entity (CARD) authenticating a second one (SERVER) and data received from said second entity, each entity storing the same secret key K, said first entity receiving a message authenticating code (MAC) and other parameters (RAND, SQN, AMF, ...), the message authenticating code calculation including the key K and said other parameters (RAND, SQN, AMF, ...), the authentication procedure consisting in challenging the received code (MAC) and an expected code (XMAC), the expected code being computed in using the received parameters and the key K stored in said first entity, characterized in that each time the two codes (MAC, XMAC) don't match, the authentication procedure is aborted, a failure counter storing the number of occurrences of abortion.
Abstract:
Radio receiving system includes reader, radio receiver receiving series of data flows from radio signal, and smart card having data stocking zone. Zone includes pre-determined data or frequency for identifying specific data flow. System also includes selective element, placed on reader or smart card, able to select specific data flow, identified by pre-determined frequency, amongst series of data flows received by radio receiver. An independent claim is also included for the smart card -type handheld device.
Abstract:
The electronic chip (10) comprises an interface (11) enabling it to communicate with a terminal and a processing circuit (13) capable of performing processing when the chip communicates with the terminal. A time base circuit (18) is connected to the processing circuit (13) for generating a first signal (SI) during at least one given moment if processing has not yet been completed at said moment. A restart signal (SR) is transmitted to the interface in response to the first signal with the purpose of indicating to the terminal that the chip is still operating.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method to select a telecommunication network with a mobile equipment (10,20) comprising a mobile communication device (10) and a personal token (20), the method operating an algorithm (25) which selects at least one network to be operated by the mobile equipment among a plurality of available networks wherein in the method, the algorithm is stored and run in the personal token (20).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for rendering content on a mobile equipment, comprising rendering a content from a broadcasted stream (10), the method further comprising the step which consists in providing a mass memory in the mobile equipment and storing content from the broadcasted stream into the mass memory characterized in that it comprises the step which consists in a remote broadcaster entity commanding (11, 12, 13, 15) the mobile equipment into storing the content from the broadcasted stream into the mass memory.
Abstract:
The invention sets forth an authentication method for use in a system including a first entity and a second entity in a network, the first entity being adapted to authenticate the second entity and data received therefrom, both first and second entities storing the same secret key. The method is implemented in a smart card such as a USIM card, including : a memory storing authentication algorithms and keys; means for receiving a message authenticating code and other parameters; means for computing an expected code from said other parameters and from said secret key; means for comparing said message authenticating code received and said expected code; and means for aborting authentication if the message authenticating code received and the expected code do not match. The smart card further comprises a failure counter adapted to store the number of abortion occurrences, and means for updating said failure counter every time the comparing means indicate that said message authenticating code and said expected code do not match. Thanks to its built-in failure counter and the fact that the updating of this counter is controlled from inside the card, the card becomes tamper-resistant against reiterated fraudulent authentication attempts.
Abstract:
A data processor, such as, for example, a smart card, comprises a controller for managing a file wherein a plurality of records can be stored in a sequential fashion. The controller checks whether a record has correctly been written into the file. The controller prevents user-related software from reading the record that is subsequent to the last record that has correctly been written.
Abstract:
The microcomponent (1) has a first wafer (2), equipped with multiple electrical connection pins (5), a second wafer (7), equipped with multiple electrical connection pads (8), intended to cooperate with the electrical connection pins (5) of the first wafer (2). The second wafer (7) has multiple first interconnection pins (10), formed on the electrical connection pads (8) of the second wafer (7), positioned facing the electrical connection pins (5) of the first wafer (2) and coming into contact with each other by nesting. An interconnection process for the first (2) and second (7) wafers of the microcomponent (1) consisting of at least the stages of the formation of the pins (5) of the first wafer (2), for example by electro-chemical growth, and of the formation of the pins (10) of the second wafer (7), for example by chemical growth.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a personal token storing a javacard application code lying over an area of the memory of the personal token, the personal token being able to run such javacard application so as to deliver HTML page data to an external device for the external device to display an HTML page on the basis of the such delivered HTML page data, said personal token further storing data to be used as a constructing part of the HTML page, characterized in that the data to be used as a contributing part of the HTML page are in at least one file which is separate from the memory area over which the Javacard application code is lying, and the personal token is programmed for opening the at least one file storing the contributing part of the HTML page when such data are requested for delivering said HTML page data to said external device.
