Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault notification system using a local area network, and a process for the fault notification. SOLUTION: A fault notification system detects the non-operational state of the computer or other type of network device, and transmits network messages from the device to a monitoring system or control console in the case of a detected non-operational state. The network messages are constructed by the network device when it is operational, preferably by the operating system before any problem is detected. This message is then stored in some non-volatile storage medium, such as the BIOS memory. As a result, very limited operating system functionality must be replicated in the device BIOS. Only the actual transmitted message must be stored and the commands are necessary to have the message sent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
Printing on speciality media comprises providing a fixed fluid, providing a dye- or pigment- based ink-jet ink containing an effective amount of a polyvinyl (alcohol-acetate) species, jetting the fixing fluid onto the speciality media forming a coated substrate, and jetting the ink-jet ink onto the coated substrate. A gelled printed image on a substrate comprises a fixing fluid containing a fixing agent and an aqueous ink-jet ink containing a polyvinyl (alcohol-acetate) species. The polyvinyl (alcohol-acetate) species used can be a known species, or one of a number of new graft copolymers containing a polyvinyl (alcohol-acetate) polymer as one of the constituents of the copolymer.
Abstract:
The color of a color image having at least two sets of image pixels having color and luminance values is corrected by generating, for each color value, a low spatial frequency monochrome image including a set of smoothed image pixels. A color correction function is applied to selected sub-sets of the image pixels to generate corresponding sub-sets of corrected, smoothed image pixels. The correction includes a contribution from smoothed image pixels in one or more of the other sets of smoothed image pixels. The sub-sets of corrected smoothed image pixels is completed by interpolation or extrapolation. Each set of corrected smoothed image pixels is used to generate a corrected color image by generating one or more high spatial frequency luminance images that are combined with each of the corrected low spatial frequency monochrome images to form a full color image.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for analyzing use of a library of a graphics routine for debugging, tuning or optimizing the image formation of an application program. SOLUTION: This graphical image forming analytical method includes a step of identifying a primitive expressed by a command sequence together with a synthetic graphical state of expressing the primitives, and further includes a step of forming a signal of expressing a characteristic of the command sequence, more concretely, a signal of totalizing and indicating which primitive is expressed in these synthetic graphical states, by indicating the synthetic graphic state of expressing the primitive by the command sequences.
