The invention concerns a container for a photosensitive product in strip form wound on a spool. The container (1) comprises: a) a lightproof cylindrical enclosure (3) having two end walls (4, 5), at least one of the end walls (4) being able to be opened so as to define an end opening (8) allowing the insertion/withdrawal of a roll (2) of the said photosensitive product in strip form; b) a cantilevered spindle (6) mounted inside the cylindrical enclosure in order to receive the spool (2), the spindle (6) being mounted perpendicular to the said end walls (4, 5); and c) means (7, 13, Fig 2) for driving the roll out of the cylindrical enclosure, through the opening (8). Application to the transportation of photographic paper.

The present invention concerns a silver halide emulsion, and more particularly a silver halide emulsion which resolves the problem of desensitisation which can be caused by the spectral sensitising dye. This emulsion is an emulsion of the core/shell type having a particular grain structure which has been chemically sensitised by means of thiourea compounds and a gold (I) compound which does not contain a labile sulphur atom. The emulsions of the present invention make it possible to reduce the dye desensitisation.

The present invention concerns a process for obtaining a silver halide photographic emulsion which can be used in colour negative photographic processes. This emulsion comprises grains containing a silver chlorobromide core and a peripheral area with a high silver chlorobromide content, and is chemically and spectrally sensitised. This emulsion has improved sensitivity characteristics.
Abstract:
A method for desilvering photographic effluent by electrolysis uses an electrolyser unit comprising at least one anode compartment and at least one cathode compartment. The photographic effluent is treated in the cathode compartment of the unit to reduce the silver ions in solution. The electrolyte is then recycled in the anode compartment before being discharged. Recycling in the anode compartment reduces the silver content of the discharged effluent to below 20 ppm.

The present invention concerns a radiographic system comprising at least one X-ray intensifying screen and a radiographic film which is sensitive to actinic radiation. The X-ray intensifying screen emits mainly ultraviolet radiation and the photosensitive film comprises a tabular-grain silver halide emulsion. Such a system enables very high quality radiographs to be obtained, even with a fast processing method.

A method for preparing a photographic emulsion incorporating tabular silver halide grains is described. It is characterized in that twinned silver halide nuclei are precipitated either in an external static nucleator operating under laminar conditions with a Reynolds number of less than 2100, or in a recipient with a very low agitation speed compared with that normally used, and characterized also in that the concentration of the Ag+ ion solution is between 0.04 and 0.3 M. Tabular silver halide grains are obtained with a diameter distribution lower than 15 %.
