Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tune up an propagation model effectively with high accuracy in a simulator for predicting the electric wave propagation condition of a multi-media radio communication. SOLUTION: A measurement propagation loss is sought from measurement signal intensity data, which are sought in a running test at two or more points. A prediction propagation loss at two or more points is calculated by using the function of a propagation model. The prediction propagation loss and the measurement propagation loss are compared to seek a propagation loss deviation at the two or more points. Based on the propagation loss deviation, a virtual height for each base object is adjusted so that the propagation loss deviation is made smaller. The tilt and the interception of the prediction propagation loss curve is so adjusted that a curve formed by plotting the measurement propagation loss in a path from a base station to the two or more points and the corresponding prediction propagation loss curve may approach to each other, and the propagation loss deviation is made smaller thereby. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently estimate the distribution of call quality in each area in real time in a cellular communication system. SOLUTION: Detailed call information of each of mobile terminals is collected via a base station. Besides, with respect to a plurality of base stations, a base station information file containing at least a local number of the base station and location information is created. The call quality of each mobile terminal, local numbers of the plurality of base stations near the mobile terminal and signal propagation time information are acquired from these detailed call information and base station information file. On the basis of the local number information and location information of the plurality of base stations near the mobile terminal and the signal propagation time information, the location of the mobile terminal is found. Thus found location information of the mobile terminal and the call quality information found from the detailed call information are correspondently outputted and plotted on a map. A parameter such as call quality is filtered and plotted on the map as needed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal information protecting method, a personal information protecting program and a portable telephone terminal which more reduce the possibility of the leakage of personal information. SOLUTION: Personal information on an SIM card 20 located in a portable telephone terminal 10 are acquired through a mounted interface and stored in a personal information memory. The SIM card 20 ejected from the portable telephone terminal 10 is housed and carried in an SIM card holder 30. When the card 20 is taken out of the terminal 20, a controller of the terminal 10 decides whether the card holder 30 locates within a specified range from the terminal 10, and makes the terminal 10 function, using the personal information in the personal information memory, when the holder 30 locates within the specified range, or rejects the access to the personal information in the personal information memory, if out of the specified range. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly grasp display contents and to perform legible display by simple device structure, with respect to a display device used in an environment with swing or oscillation. SOLUTION: This image display device having an image memory which accepts image data which should be displayed and temporarily stores them and a display part which performs image display based on read data from the image memory is provided with an image pickup part which picks up an image of at least a part of an observer of the image display device or an image of an object at a position fixed to the observer and a movement vector calculation part which calculates a movement vector indicating relative movement and the direction of the display part and the observer based on image pickup data of the image pickup part. The relative movement of the display part and the observer is alleviated or eliminated by controlling a reading address of the image memory based on movement vector from the movement vector calculation part. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a multiplexed signal which exhibits no voice delay and voice quality degradation. SOLUTION: An iDEN is provided with a base radio unit (104) which is interconnected to a plurality of transcoders (4) located in a central office (2). The base radio unit (104) multiplexes voice packets from the plurality of transcoders (4) on a time division multiple signal frame (20) in the time division manner. Each signal frame (20) contains a plurality of consecutive frames (204). Each consecutive frame (204) contains a predetermined number of slots (202) on the basis of channel interleave. Each slot (202) contains a slot descriptor block (2024) and a plurality of sub-slots (2026, 2028). The slot descriptor block (2024) alternately contains overhead information for the plurality of sub-slots (2026, 2028). COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet scheduling method capable of performing scheduling that responds to the needs of a user based on satisfaction to a packet communication speed and to provide a packet transmission processing method and a router. SOLUTION: When a terminal 11 inputs each packet 20 attached with identification data, an edge router 12 attaches satisfaction Δu obtained from the communication speed and satisfaction function of the packet 20 and subsequently outputs the packet 20 attached with the satisfaction Δu to a core router 13. The core router 13 respectively extracts the satisfaction Δu attached with each packet 20 to respectively calculate an average value for each flow where the packet 20 attached with the satisfaction Δu is inputted, defines the average value of the each flow as the weight of each flow and respectively outputs the packet 20 of each flow with the ratio of a value that is subjected to proportional division with the weight. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when controlling transmission power according to transmission power information that is transmitted from a base station to a mobile station, large electric power is consumed so as to maintain the linearity of an RF signal. SOLUTION: A transmission device generally comprises a processing component 310, a baseband controller 320, a linearization controller 330, a variable baseband source 340, and a radio frequency (RF) component 350. The variable baseband source 340 generates an RF signal based on a baseband signal. The processing component 310 generates a first control signal and a second control signal. The processing component 310 also supplies the baseband controller 320 with the first control signal for adjusting the variable baseband source 340, and the linearization controller 330 with the second control signal for adjusting the RF component 350. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system comparing two sets of information to generate and store comparison results. SOLUTION: The sets of information are information pertaining to known aspects of a product and aspects of a new product. Information emphasizing differences between the known product and the new product is generated by comparing the sets of information. A smart owner's manual that is stripped of redundant information is created by distilling differences between the known product and the new product. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer information from a portable electronic device to a user. SOLUTION: A stylus using a translucent material for optical transfer is used. In a favorable embodiment, the stylus provides a charge display with a similar form as a thermometer. Charge display is operated by inserting the stylus into a special stylus holder. At that time, a charge display similar to a temperature gauge appears on the stylus body. In another embodiment, color, lens focus and light intensity are changed for transferring information. The stylus can be also used for transferring any kind of information including receiving of electronic mails by the portable electronic device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent misguidance of a vehicle by appropriately locating a portion to be excluded from an initial route when travel in the initial route encounters trouble. SOLUTION: When a driver who drives a vehicle according to navigation guidance determines unsuitability of following the guidance and operates a switch to output a rerouting signal, a computer identifies at least one combination of road segments in an initial route as an object to be excluded, in order to correct the vehicle route. The computer then computes a new route to the destination by excluding the identified combination of road segments from the initial route without excluding individual road segments.
