    Abstract: PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a communication method thereof are provided to reduce a size of the circuit board by reducing a capacity of an inductor separating DC power and a communication signal from each other by receiving a high-frequency communication signal linked to the DC power after converting the communication signal into the high-frequency communication signal when a communication between a plurality of indoor units and a peripheral unit is performed. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises indoor units(100). The indoor unit is proceeded peripheral, income and outgo of electric power and data communications through the cephalic gland. The indoor unit performs a data communication with a peripheral unit and a power supplying using two wires. The indoor comprises a communication unit(120), a signal separator(140), and a signal link unit(130). The communication unit modulates a low frequency communications signal into a high frequency communication signal when data is transmitted to the peripheral unit. The communication unit demodulates a high frequency communications signal into a low frequency communication signal when data is transmitted from the peripheral unit. The signal separator is connected to the two wires, thereby outputting power to the peripheral unit. The signal separator separates the signal transmitted from the peripheral unit from the power. The signal link unit transmits the modulated high frequency communication signals by linking with the power output from the signal separator to the peripheral unit and the high frequency communication signals by separating from the signals transmitted from the peripheral unit to the communication unit.
