    Abstract: PURPOSE: A removing method of iron sulfide from sea water is provided, which can detect the generation of iron sulfide in sea water by using senses of sight and smell and by using instrumental analysis easily and can remove it effectively within 2-4 min. by oxidation treatment by feeding air and hydrogen peroxide according to the concentration of iron sulfide. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the following steps: (i) a primary detecting step to detect pollution of iron sulfide by judging color and smell of sea water by using senses of sight and smell; (ii) a final confirming step of contamination of iron sulfide by confirming consistent of characteristic peak at 675 nm through peak scanning of sea water utilizing UV-VIS spectrophotometer; and (iii) a removing step by an oxidation treatment of iron sulfide by feeding hydrogen peroxide and air simultaneously , the feeding rate of air being 0.25-2 liter per min. and the final concentration of hydrogen peroxide being 30-70 ppm diluted with fresh water.
