    Abstract: PURPOSE: An IC(integrated circuit) emulator using a processor chip and a reset enabling chip is provided to reduce the time to develop an application system by using the emulator which can be emulated in full time for a design. CONSTITUTION: An emulator(2) has a processing engine(3) formed by one or more processor and an external interface signal generator(4) formed by a reset enabling chip(for example, FPGA(field programmable gate array)) charging an interface with an external according to an external interface model. If the interface is required, the processing engine(3) transmits an interface control packet to the external interface signal generator(4) through a channel(5). The external interface signal generator(4) decodes the interface control packet, transmits an electronic signal to a target system(9), receives the electronic signal from the target system(9) and transmits the electronic signal to the processing engine(3). The target system(9) has a socket(6), IC chips(7) and sockets(8). The emulator(2) connects with a monitoring/controlling computer(10) through a monitoring/controlling port(1). The monitoring/controlling port(1) downloads a software model to the processing engine(3) or resets the reset enabling chip inside of the external interface signal generator(4).
