    Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain flames stabilizedly on the titled burner, by increasing the swirled rate of solid fuel such as pulverized coal by expanding the after flow swirling part of a flame cap by providing a plurality of slits for the secondary air in the flame cap and by forcing the secondary air into the after flow part of the flame cap. CONSTITUTION:Inner edges 18 and slits 35 which serve as the discharge ports of the secondary air are provided on a flame cap. The flowing direction of particles 21 of pulverized coal fed through a fuel pipe 41 is changed by the inner edges 18 and the particles flow along the inside of a flame holding cone 23 as an induced swirl flow 26. The secondary air 24 flows into the flame cap from the slit secondary air ports 37, is injected from a flame holding surface 22, being slanted so as to cause a swirl flow, and strengthen the above- mentioned induced swirl flow 26. The flow of pulverized coal is drawn (29) onto the flame holding surface 22 by the flow of the secondary air. Part of the secondary air flowing along the outer side of a flame holding cone 23 work as the secondary air swirling flow 25, further reinforcing the induced swirl flow 26.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease NOX (nitrogen oxides) formation without increasing soot and dust carried in flue gases, by supplying a part of combustion air through some of the burners or from the rear wall of a furnace in order to prevent the concentration of flames on the rear wall of said furnace. CONSTITUTION:Flame 7 rises along the rear wall of a furnace and mixes with a flow of air 10, so that combustion is performed. As the flow of air 10 is present between the flames 8 and 7, local increase in combustion load is prevented. However, since the flame 7 is cooled by the rear wall, a larger excess air ratio for a burner 2 is required to accelerate combustion. As a flame 9 extends over and cover the flame 8, a local increase in combustion load is probable. In such case, by cutting off feeding fuel 1 to a burner 4 and using said burner as an air port, combustion condition is improved. In such a way, combustion at the mixing port 11 is improved and a shorter flame length is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency in atomizing the particles and to reduce the amt. of unburnt components formed in a combustion waste gas with the title atomizer nozzle by providing at least one throttling part at the site directly after the confluence of an atomization medium and a fluid to be atomized when the medium and the fluid are mixed. CONSTITUTION:In a two-fluid atomizer nozzle for mixing an atomization medium 1 (e.g., steam) to be fed under pressure and a fluid 3 (e.g., oil) to be atomized which is fed under pressure, at least one throttling part 6 is provided between the confluent position 5 directly after the confluence in the atomization passage where the atomization medium 1 and the fluid 3 to be atomized are joined and the outlet 8 of the atomization passage. Consequently, the efficiency in atomizing the particles can be improved without increasing the amt. of the atomization medium and the amt. of unburnt components in the combustion waste gas and the generation of dust can be reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform stable burning in a broad load range, by forming and arranging a member, which deflects the flow or pulverized coal with respect to a flame keeping ring and the axial direction of a jetting tube. CONSTITUTION:A flame keeping ring 4 is attached to an annular groove at the opening end of a primary sleeve 21, which is a jetting tube, on the side of a furnace. The ring 4 comprises a perpendicular crossing part 4a, which is intersected with a pulverized coal stream 1 at a right angle, and a cone part 4b, which is opened on the side of the furnace in connection with the outer peripheral edge of the perpendicular crossing part 4a. Openings 16 form a constant angle alpha with a forming plane 22 of the perpendicular crossing part 4a. The vortex-shaped pulverized coal stream 18 is deflected in the circumferential direction of the cone part 4b through the opening parts 16 since the opening parts 16 are formed at the constant angle alpha. The fluid energy in the axial direction of the primary sleeve 21 is reduced. The flame keeping ability, i.e., the keeping ability of the vortex of the pulverized coal, is relatively increased. Therefore, the pulverized coal particle, whose diameter is large, can be held on the flame keeping ring 4, and the stability of the flame can be enhanced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make possible low air ratio combustion without increasing dusts in the exhaust gas by providing in a nozzle a confluence hole section in which pressurized air and pressurized fluid fuel mix together and making the ratio of L to d more than 1.5, where L is the dimension between the confluence junction and the confluence hole outlet point and d is diameter of the fluid fuel hole. CONSTITUTION:An atomization gas 1 of a high speed given by its passing from an atomization gas chamber 2 to an atomization gas inlet hole 3 accelerates a fluid fuel 4 supplied from a fluid fuel hole 5 and the fuel flows out atomized from the confluence hole 6. The point where the fluid fuel 4 and the atomization gas 1 start exchanging their momenta between them is near the confluence junction point, and from here atomization due to the momentum exchange starts. Certain distance is required for sufficient momentum exchange (atomization effect) of two fluids. According to a test with water, a ratio L/d less than 0.5 does not develop sufficient atomization but develops atomization of coarse particles with streaked atomized particles, and they become extremely minute around at L/d=1.5. By this minute atomization the state close to gas combustion is obtained, allowing low air ratio combustion.

CONSTITUTION:A ground mixture is sent from the mill 4 grinding a raw material for product, a line feeding the raw material for product to the mill 4, and the storage tank 5 set near the outlet of the mill 4, passed by the pump 6 through a strainer consisting of one or more of the screens 16 and 17 in the vicinity of the outlet of the mill 4, so that coarse granules are separated. The separated coarse granules are recycled to the mill 4, and sent to the product tank 11, to give the aimed slurry.

With the foregoing, irrespective of selecting of any one of the operation or stopping of a burner device, the hot part can sufficiently by cooled, so that the life of the device can be extended and the slagging caused by the melting of the ash may not occur.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To jet out even a slurry fuel having a strong cohesion force under a dispersion and pulverizing of particles by providing a chamber in which the particles in the slurry fuel are pulverized. CONSTITUTION:The slurry F which is advanced in a fuel passage 2 in addition to increase of its flowing speed, the fuel is given a shearing force from it in a passage 6a of a Venturi member 6, and further, it is blown into a first mixing chamber 7 whose cross-sectional area is larger than that of the Venturi member, and then changed into granular drops of the fuel. A steam S is blown out from a nozzle 8, against the slurry of in this condition granular drops, a violent revolving flow is produced and solid grains in the slurry are scattered individually, and then poured into a second mixing chamber 14. Further, atomized liquid fuel and the stream are mixed and agitated violently in the mixing chamber 14, and then blown out from the nozzle 11. Thereby, a slurry fuel flame is shortened, since the slurry fuel is dispersed in fine particles then blown out, and the combustibility and controllability of the slurry fuel may be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To denitrate a combustion product with high efficiency, by a method wherein a bluff-body in a specified shape is formed at the forward end of a pulverized coal pipe, and this prevents dispersion of pulverized coal, and forms an excellent reduction flame in the vicinity of the nozzle of the pulverized coal pipe. CONSTITUTION:Pulverized coal, forming a pulverized coal flow 2, is injected through a nozzle 9 into a furnace by means of a pulverized coal pipe 8. In which case, a vortex flow 24 is produced to the inside of a L-shaped part of an L- shaped bluff-body member 20 formed in an L-shaped in cross section with the aid of the member. The vortex flow serves to prevent the pulverized coal flow from being dispersed to the outside of the L-shaped part, and enables relatively excellent reduction of a gas phase. Further, a fan, which independently feeds a secondary and a tertiary air, is installed, dampers 30 and 32, air registers 12 and 14 for the secondary and the tertiary air, and secondary and tertiary air vanes 16 and 16A, serving as a terminal swirl device, are provided, and this controls the pressure and the air flow of each air and produces a swirl force, resulting in the possibility to excellently separate the secondary and the tertiary air from a high-temperature reduction flame 1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To contrive the simplifying of control operation and the stabilization of igniting by a method wherein an igniting torch and a burner are made into an integral structure.
    CONSTITUTION: A burner is composed of a electrode 14 having a needle-shaped top made of tungsten as a negative electrode and a nozzle 15 made of copper as a positive electrode, generates an electric arc between both poles by a high frequency power source 17. A jetting speed of pulverized coal/air flow is kept higher than a certain constant rate of flow, generally, set higher than 10m/s. The pulverized coal/air flow is set so that the jetting speed is kept higher than 10m/s. The weight of a flame holder 23 is adjusted so that the direction of the flame holder 23 is inclined toward the inner side of the torch side in case that the jetting speed is less than 17m/s. Thereby, the pulverized coal/air flow is easily contacted with a plasma arc flame 3, accordingly, the stable igniting for the pulverized coal can be achieved.
