    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a correct automatic dimming flash, by displaying ''charging completion'', that is to say, ''light emitting preparation completion'' only when charging of a main capacitor for main light emission and a subcapacitor for stand-by light emission is completed. CONSTITUTION:To an electric power supply 1, a DC-DC converter 3 is connected through an electric power supply switch 2. To an output of the converter 3, retifying diodes (D) 4, 5 are connected, and to D4, a main capacitor (C) 9 for storing the light emitting energy is connected in parallel with a series circuit of a coil 12 a photographing main discharge tube 13 and a main thyristor 18. Also, to D5, a parallel circuit of a range measuring subdischarge tube 7 and a sub-C 6 for supplying the light emitting energy is connected. Resistances (R) 21, 22 detect charging voltage of C9, apply it to a comparator 50, and R21A and 22A detect charging voltage of C6, and apply it to a comparator 50A. Outputs of the comparators 50, 50A are connected to an AND gate 200, and only when charging of C9 and C6 is completed, a light emission diode 53 is made to emit light, and ''light emitting preparation completion'' is displayed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent troubles of display for photography in a short distance, by inhibiting the driving of a dimming confirmation display when a warning display for warning overexposure is driven. CONSTITUTION:When a Zener diode 36 is operated simultaneously with the start of light emission of a flash discharge tube 13 by closing of a synchronizing contact 9, a delay switching circuit consisting of a resistance 31, capacitor 30, and transistor TR32 is operated. Then, a TR45 becomes nonconductive because the TR32 becomes conductive for a prescribed time. When the quantity of flash reflected light which a photo TR27 receives reaches a prescribed value, a TR26 becomes conductive to generate a flash stopping signal. An SCR50 is made conductive by a voltage at a point A, which is generated by the generation of this stopping signal, to light a warning display LED49. At this time, a dimming confirmation LED62 which indicates that the flash control operation is performed properly is not lit. Thus, troubles of display for photography in a short distance are prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a display device to be driven only when a subject is appropriately exposed in a dimming type flashing device while receiving the reflected flash from the subject to control the time to turn off a flash discharging tube. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting diode 48 is not turned on by an output from a timer circuit T1 when a flash stopping signal is generated (over exposure) within a prescribed time from the flash starting having the posibility of generation of an exposure error in case of short-distance photographing and by an output from a timer circuit T2 when a flash stopping signal is generated after the time flashing has been almost completed, i.e. long-distance photographing (under exposure). When photographing is carried out under normal distance (proper exposure), both the timer circuits T1, T2 are not actuated and the light emitting diode 48 is turned on. Consequently it can be confirmed that the subject is properly exposed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the waveform of emitted light to be controlled by data by comparing an output generated according to the previously stored data with a light output which is controlled and controlling the light output. SOLUTION: When the light is emitted by a discharge tube 12 and the output of a delay circuit 28 becomes a low level, the action of a first light detection means is started. Then, the light emitting output of the tube 12 is lowered and the output of the first light detection means is lowered. When they become lower than voltage outputted from the output port 2 of a microcomputer 34, the output of a comparator 26 is shifted to a high level and given to the gate of an IGBT 13 through an AND gate 27 and an OR gate 33 so as to make the IGBT 13 conductive. Besides, the light emitting output of the tube 12 is increased. By this increase, the output of the first light detection means is increased again and the IGBT 13 becomes non-conductive. Heveafter, these actions are repeatedly executed. Next, when the light emitted from the tube 12 and the light reflected from the object of the IGBT 13 arrive at prescribed amounts, the output 1 of a photometry circuit 31 becomes a high level and the light emission of the discharge tubes 12 and 18 is stopped.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a discharge tube 22 for flash photographing; a main capacitor 3 supplying light emitting energy to the discharge tube 22; the switching element 24 connected to the discharge tube 22 in series; a trigger means consisting of a trigger transformer 5 impressing trigger energy on the discharge tube 22, a trigger capacitor 6, an SCR 8, a resistance 7 and a resistance 9; a detecting means consisting of a photodiode 33 detecting the light emitting output of the discharge tube 22, a resistance 34 and a comparator 51; and a driving circuit consisting of 1st and 2nd pulse generators 36 and 38 cyclically driving the switching element 24 and the trigger means, the photodiode 33, the resistance 34 and an AND gate 37. In the device, the operation of the trigger means is inhibited when the detecting means detects that the light emitting output is equal to or above a 1st specified value.
