Abstract: Se dan a conocer un aparato, sistema y método para regular el flujo de fluido. El aparato incluye un miembro de soporte alargado curvado elásticamente deformable y que tiene primero y segundo extremos. El aparato también incluye un elemento de soporte opuesto configurado para posicionar un tubo contra el miembro de soporte alargado curvado, entre el primer y segundo extremos. La deformación del miembro de soporte alargado por el movimiento del primero y segundo extremos uno hacia el otro reduce un volumen interno del tubo.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for regulating fluid flow are disclosed. The apparatus includes a flow rate sensor and a valve. The flow rate sensor uses images to estimate flow through a drip chamber and then controls the valve based on the estimated flow rate. The valve comprises a rigid housing disposed around the tube in which fluid flow is being controlled. Abstract: An apparatus (1), system and method for monitoring fluid flow in an intravenous drip are disclosed. The apparatus holds a drip chamber (4) in relation to an imaging device or processor (11, 19, 18, 20). Distortion of a background image or pattern due to refraction of light through the flowing, dripping liquid is detected by the processor. The estimated flow rate into the drip chamber (4) is then used to generate an error signal to control a valve actuator (6) with a closed loop control system (14).
