Abstract: A crosslinkable composition including an ethylene-based polymer, an aminosilane, and optionally a peroxide. The aminosilane is represented by the following formula (I): wherein R1, R2, and R3 are the same or different and individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a C1-C20 alkyl group; Y1 is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group and an alkoxy group; Y2 is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group and an aminoalkyl group, and n is 0 or 1. A crosslinked composition formed from the crosslinkable composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process includes providing (A) an ethylene/MOCOS copolymer composed of (i) units derived from ethylene, (ii) from 0.01 wt % to 0.5 wt % units derived from a comonomer, and (iii) optionally units derived from a termonomer. The comonomer is a monocyclic organosiloxane (MOCOS) of formula (I) [R1, R2SiO2/2]n wherein n is an integer greater than or equal to 3, each R1 is independently a (C2_C4) alkenyl or a H2C═C (R1a)—C(═O)—O—(CH2)m_ wherein R1a is H or methyl; m is an integer from 1 to 4; and each R2 is independently H, (C1_C4) alkyl, phenyl, or R1. The process includes mixing (B) a free radical initiator with (A) the ethylene/MOCOS copolymer to form a mixture, heating the mixture, and forming a crosslinkable ethylene/MOCOS copolymer composition having a gel content greater than 70%.

Abstract: A method includes steps of (a) blending a polymeric composition, including: (i) 5 wt % to 45 wt % of a silanol-functionalized polyolefin based on a total weight of the polymeric composition; (ii) 55 wt % to 90 wt % of a polybutylene terephthalate based on a total weight of the polymeric composition having a melt flow index from 21 g/10 min. to 35 g/10 min. at 250° C. and 2.16 kg; (iii) a condensation catalyst; and (iv) 0.5 wt % to 10 wt % of hydroxy terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane) based on a total weight of the polymeric composition; and (b) extruding the polymeric composition.
