Abstract:
A slave station and a method of regulating the transmission power a master station are described, which permit an estimate of the signal/interference ratio in a transmission system without sending a pilot sequence, the transmission power being regulated as a function of an estimate of the signal/interference ratio. In a transmission system, in particular a CDMA transmission system, useful signals assigned to different communicating subscribers are separated by orthogonal codes. A useful signal assigned to one communicating subscriber is derived by using one of the codes from a signal received at least in the slave station from the master station and is compared as a reference signal with the received signal to estimate the signal/interference ratio.
Abstract:
The invention proposes a method for signaling various header data (5, 10, 20, 25) in the transmission of packet data units (1) in a telecommunications network depending on a type of the respective header data (5, 10, 20, 25), which requires the lowest possible bandwidth and bit rate. A set of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) received in a receiver (70) of the telecommunications network, depending on its signaling (30, 35, 40), is supplied to one of at least two groups (50, 55) of algorithms for an evaluation. For a first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25), a first algorithm is provided in a first group (50) of algorithms, and for a second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) a second algorithm is provided in a second group (55) of algorithms, wherein the first algorithm corresponds to the second algorithm. The signaling (30, 35, 40) for the first type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) and the signaling (30, 35, 40) for the second type of header data (5, 10, 20, 25) are combined into a shared signaling.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting signaling is proposed which is simple and efficient without taking up significant transmission capacity. In the method, a transmission of the signaling takes place between a mobile station (12) and a base station (11) in a mobile radio network. The signaling is transmitted in at least one predetermined time slot (301), and a different signaling is assigned to each mobile station (12) disposed in a radio cell of the base station (11), so that signaling operations of various mobile stations, transmitted via the at least predetermined time slot, can be distinguished from one another in the base station (11).
Abstract:
A data transmission method in which a CDMA-coded data signal is transmitted between a transmitter and a receiver in the form of a data stream of spread data bursts, with hierarchical CDMA codes used for transmission. Spread data is detected in a first step according to a mother code of at least one receiving code. The detected data is despread in a second step by despreading it using at least one generator. The detection process is aborted in a third step if the data has been despread to a sufficient extent, or, if this is not the case, the second step is repeated using the data last despread until the data has been despread to a sufficient extent.
Abstract:
To accelerate the specification of a location during the sending of an emergency call of a mobile telecommunications device (in particular, a terminal), the position of the respective mobile telecommunications device is determined prior to the sending of the call and/or independently of the mobile telecommunications network and is transmitted when the emergency call is sent.
Abstract:
A data transmission device is described which may use multiple data transmission technologies and/or multiple data transmission parameters of one or more data transmission technologies, having at least one transmitting device and one receiving device which can communicate with one another over at least one data transmission channel. A determination device for determining the transmission properties of the data transmission channel(s) for multiple data transmission technologies and/or multiple data transmission parameters of one or more data transmission technologies, and a selector device for selecting a certain data transmission technology having certain data transmission parameters according to the result of the determination, are additionally provided so as to be able to accommodate different transmission properties.

An architecture and a signaling process are created for transmitting call images from a first telecommunication device to a second telecommunication device to establish communication link from the first telecommunication device to the second telecommunication device is established via a telecommunication network. The inventive method is suitable particularly for establishing a connection for call image transmission between SIP supporting telephones and non-SIP supporting telephones.
Abstract:
A transmission frame and a telecommunications device (60, 65, 70) having a transmission frame (1) are proposed, which are used to transmit short messages (5) in a telecommunications network (10), in particular in a radiotelecommunications network. By means of the transmission frame (1), especially flexible transmission of short messages (5) in the telecommunications network (10) is possible. At least two data fields (15, 20, 25, 30) are provided. Data of a short message (5) are stored in memory in the data fields (15, 20, 25, 30). Data in a first data format are stored in a first data field (15), and data in a second data format, different from the first data format, are stored in a second data field (20).
Abstract:
A method and a subscriber station for allocating rights of access to a telecommunications channel of the telecommunications network to at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20) are proposed in which information signals are transmitted to the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20). With the information signals, access authorization data (45, 50, 55) are transmitted to the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20). Upon reception of the access authorization data (45, 50, 55) in an evaluation unit (6) of the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20), the question is asked whether the access authorization data (45, 50, 55) include an access threshold value (S), and the access threshold value (S) is compared with a random number or a pseudo-random number (R), and the right of access to a telecommunications channel of the at least one subscriber station (5, 10, 15, 20) is granted as a function of the outcome of comparison.
Abstract:
Multiuser methods of detecting CDMA-coded signals cannot be used in practice because of their high computational complexity. However, the RAKE receiver, which is simple in computing terms, offers greatly inferior detection results. Through an iterative approximation of multiuser solutions, a reduction in computing complexity is achieved in comparison with traditional multiuser methods. A first estimate of coded data is improved by iteration either until a quality criterion is met or until no more computing time is available. The field of application of this method includes, in particular, situations where CDMA-coded signals transmitted linearly are to be detected, in particular in the mobile wireless field when using CDMA methods.
