The data is read in automatically after the specific code is confirmed by setting the portable memory device 8 which is carried with a routeman at the time of a maintenance patrol and in which the specific code such as the apparatus code of the automatic vending machine 1, etc., is stored to the automatic vending machine 1, and the data is set as the set data in the automatic vending machine 1. Thus, complicated sale data can be set and inputted to the automatic vending machine 1 correctly and automatically.

Next, the key input of the false number by the number of digits being displayed on the number display 3bb of the display part 3b is performed in the middle way between the first input of the password number and the second input of it, and after that, the second key input of its own stored password number is performed. Then, the person carrying the card performs the key input of the false number by the number of digits being displayed on the number display 3bc of the display part 3b, and finishes an input operation. In such a way, the key input is easily performed since the key input of the password number is performed with the person carrying the card successively.

CONSTITUTION:When a center unit 11 starts information collection, a line is connected with the public line 10. An automatic vending machine group side receives the signal and sends the data in the order of automatic vending machines 1a, 1b,.... The center unit 11 receives the data sent from the automatic vending machine group and when the reception is finished and the data correctness is confirmed, the center unit 11 sends a time setting request and the current time. The automatic vending machines 1a, 1b,... receiving them set the simultaneously the present time stored in a storage means 4. Then other data communication is implemented as required sequentially. When the information collection is finished, the center equipment disconnects the connection of the line 10.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain a high-speed processing by providing an area discriminator, which discriminates the plural independent amount area from the currently used amount area, in an amount storing area, and altering the area discriminator when an error occurs. CONSTITUTION:In an amount storing area 3 of an IC card 1, an area discriminator 3a, which discriminates plural independent amount areas 3b from the currently used amount area, is possessed, and an area altering means 13, which alters the area discriminator when the error occurs in a transaction device 4, is provided. When the commodities, etc., are transacted, the transaction amount is subtracted and written from the amount area 3b designated by the area discriminator 3a, thus the transaction is established, when the error has occurred, the area discriminator 3a is altered, and the amount area to be used is altered. Consequently the transaction is established by accessing the designated amount area in a normal time only, and when the error occurs the amount area can be altered only by the alteration of the area discriminator. Thus the processing is made easier and faster.
