Abstract:
The invention relates to a signal processor comprising at least one data source (3), a plurality of input registers (11, 12, 13, 14, ...) whose inputs are coupled to the data source by data buses (9, 10), a plurality of multipliers (19, 20; 71, 72, ...) for multiplying data buffered in the input registers, and processing means for processing products (p0, p1, ...), generated by the multipliers by arithmetic and/or logic operations. For achieving enhanced flexibility of the signal processor and increasing the number of possible applications, there is proposed that multiplexing means (15, 16, 17, 18; 70) are provided which are used for coupling the multipliers to a respective part of the input registers in dependence on control signals (I, II, III, IV). Such a signal processor comprising parallel data processing branches is preferably used in mobile radio technology. Further fields of application are, for example, audio, video, medical and automotive technology, ISDN systems, digital radio.
Abstract:
A bridge amplifier circuit comprising two amplifiers in bridge configuration is presented, wherein a feedback path from the output of one of the amplifiers to the reference input of the other amplifier is provided, together with compensation means for reducing the voltage variation at the reference input. In this way offset and distortion are reduced, although the gain of the amplifier circuit is not affected by the presence of the feedback path.
Abstract:
In this power supply device, there are two accumulators (25 and 26) combined in series for producing varied voltages (15-16 and 17-16). If either accumulator is discharged, it is recharged by the other. Application: mobile equipment.
Abstract:
This accumulator device for an apparatus intermittently operating between a standby state and an active state, comprises: a first accumulator (10) of the lithium type and a second accumulator (11) of the lead-acid type capable of rapidly supplying energy; a connection circuit (20, 21, 25, 26, 28) for connecting the accumulators to said apparatus, comprising switch elements (20, 25); a control circuit (40) of said switch elements for connecting the second accumulator to the apparatus during the active state.
Abstract:
A display system comprises a display apparatus such as an electronic notice board (36), TV set (46) or computer monitor. Radio messages are received by a point-to-point receiving apparatus (16), such as a wide area digital pager, adjustably mounted on the display apparatus. The receiving apparatus (16) generates non-electrical signals which are transmitted to the display apparatus, the display apparatus having means (40, 41, 42) enabling the signals to be displayed. The receiving apparatus (16) is adjusted to minimise the reduction in the quality of the radio signal received by said receiving apparatus.
Abstract:
A hybrid driving arrangement of multiple 3D graphics renderers (77, 78) and multiple synthetic stereo processors (76, 79) is provided for driving multiple view displays (70) such as four view display devices. The device is an LCD screen device (72) with an overlying lenticular screen (74), with the arrangement of pixels driven from the four different sources (76-79) relative to the individual lenticular arrays being such that, at viewing locations V1 to V4, the images from respective ones of the four sources (76-79) can be seen. As the main viewer of such a multiple view display will typically be positioned in the centre of the display as shown, and as such will only see a stereoscopic image provided by the two central views V2 and V3, the image sources (77, 78) for the two centre views V2, V3 are respective 3-D graphics renderers, and those for the other views, post-processing stages (76, 79). Thus the main viewer has the best quality view while viewers to the side suffer some (acceptable) degradation.
Abstract:
In a stripline filter (40) a stripline resonator (42) and a stripline resonator (44) are mutually coupled. In order to be able to influence the type of coupling (inductive, capacitive or a mixture thereof) the distance between the stripline resonators (40, 42) changes over the length of the stripline resonators (40, 42). If the stripline resonators are shorted at the end where the distance between them has a minimum value the coupling is substantially inductive. If the stripline resonators (40, 42) is open or capacitively loaded at the end where the distance has a minimum value, the coupling is substantially capacitive.
Abstract:
A circuit arrangement (40) and display apparatus are described for use in 3-D graphics, where 2-D texture maps stored at different resolutions in a pyramidal array are indexed by a pair of texture coordinates and an associated level coordinate (L). In order to introduce depth cues to the 2-D transformed image of the 3-D environment, a focus depth (F) for the image is specified and those image components having a depth (z) other than the focus depth have their texture blurred to direct the viewer's eye to the depth of interest. The texture blurring is introduced by applying an offset (FS) to the level coordinate (L) indexing the pyramidal array in an amount determined by the distance to the focus depth.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit includes a sensor which is arranged in the vicinity of a conductor in the circuit and is capable of measuring the current through the conductor. This sensor, for example constructed as a coil, is capable of determining whether a connection which includes the conductor is in order. It can thus be tested notably whether the possibly multiple supply connection of the integrated circuit is appropriately connected to an external connection terminal.
Abstract:
A passive radiator comprising a chassis (1), a mass element (5) suspended within the chassis, and a suspension means for flexibly suspending the mass element from the chassis. In order to obtain a large amplitude of the mass element, a sub-chassis (3) extends between the chassis and the mass element, first flexible connecting elements (15) connecting the mass element to the sub-chassis, and second flexible connecting elements (17) connecting the sub-chassis to the chassis.
