Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a traffic advertisement. The traffic advertisement indicates availability of data to be sent to multiple devices of a set of devices. The data includes first data to be sent to a first device and second data to be sent to a second device. The method also includes sending the traffic advertisement during a paging window. The method further includes receiving a first acknowledgement (ACK) during the paging window from the first device. The method also includes receiving a trigger message from the second device. The method further includes sending the first data to the first device during a data transmission window. The method also includes, in response to detecting receipt of the trigger message from the second device, sending the second data to the second device during the data transmission window without receiving a second ACK during the paging window from the second device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices related to wireless communication via a mesh network are described. In particular, the disclosure is directed to selecting a path between two nodes in a wireless mesh network based on consideration of type of data requested and a determination whether an intermediate node, within a predetermined range of the requesting node, is actively broadcasting the requested data. Such opportunistic consideration in selecting a path between two nodes may avoid unnecessary activation of additional broadcasting nodes and reduce the risk of triggering interference between multiple nodes broadcasting duplicate data.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving, at a first station of a peer-to-peer infrastructure-less network, a data packet transmitted from a second station of the peer-to-peer infrastructure-less network. The method also includes determining whether to retransmit the data packet to at least one other station in the peer-to-peer infrastructure-less network or whether to suppress retransmission of the data packet based on received signal strengths of received retransmissions of the same data packets from one or more nearby stations.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating, at a first device, a traffic advertisement indicating availability of data to be sent by the first device to at least one second device. The method also includes sending the traffic advertisement during an initial portion of a neighbor aware network (NAN) data link (NDL) time block. The method further includes sending first data to the second device during the NDL time block. The first data is sent independently of receiving an acknowledgement (ACK) responsive to the traffic advertisement from the second device.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a control message at a particular device. The control message indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device. The data includes first data corresponding to a first access category. The method also includes, subsequent to determining that transmission of the control message is to be delayed, determining a first delay based on the first access category. The method further includes sending the control message from the particular device upon expiration of a delay period. The delay period is based on the first delay.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes generating a traffic advertisement at a particular device. The traffic advertisement indicates availability of data to be sent by the particular device to multiple devices of a set of devices. The data includes first data to be sent to a first device of the multiple devices and second data to be sent to a second device of the multiple devices. The method also includes sending, from the particular device, the traffic advertisement during a paging window. The method further includes receiving a first acknowledgement (ACK) during the paging window at the particular device from an acknowledging device. The method also includes sending the first data from the particular device to the first device during a data transmission window.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems are described to enable generating and securely distributing a common network key in a wireless network. For example, instead of each station of the wireless network generating a station-specific group network key, a particular station may generate and securely transmit a common network key to be used by multiple stations in the wireless network to decrypt group messages from multiple stations in the wireless network.
Abstract:
A device for communication includes a processor, a transmitter, and a receiver. The processor is configured to generate a traffic advertisement indicating availability of data to be sent to a plurality of devices. The traffic advertisement includes a unicast message addressed to a first device of the plurality of devices. The transmitter is configured to transmit the traffic advertisement during a paging window. The receiver is configured to receive, during a data transmission window that is subsequent to the paging window, a data request from a second device of the plurality of devices. The data request is responsive to the traffic advertisement. The transmitter is further configured to send first data to the second device responsive to the data request.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for discovering and establishing an optimal data path between a source device and a destination device of a first network by employing one or more other networks having a network protocol different from the first network. The techniques of the present disclosure may include receiving a route request message from the source device at an edge device connected to both a first network and a second network, and forwarding the route request message via the second network. In some examples, the data path that offers an improved link metric and/or a minimum hop count may be established by routing traffic along a data path employing a plurality of networks (e.g., WLAN, cellular or Ethernet) between the source device and the destination device.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication by a station, comprising receiving access point (AP) association information for each of one or more APs; and determining to associate with one of the one or more APs based on the received AP association information. In a different embodiment, a method of wireless communication by a station, comprising receiving a request including at least one information identifier from a first access point (AP) associated with the station; collecting information indicated by the at least one information identifier from each of a plurality of APs to generate a report including AP information of the plurality of APs; and sending the report including the AP information of the plurality of APs to the first AP to generate a neighbor report including the AP information of the plurality of APs.
