Abstract:
Described herein are mechanisms and methods that facilitate utilizing a base station as a regional mobility agent (e.g., regional home agent, regional foreign agent, and/or the like). Thus, a base station can have functionality embedded therein that enables the base station to create tunnels with other base stations and selectively direct data intended for a wireless terminal to those base stations. Such base stations can then transmit the data to the wireless terminal.
Abstract:
Embodiments describe synchronizing access routers with wireless terminal state information. According to an embodiment is a wireless terminal that transmits a message that includes an address for at least two access routers. State change information can optionally be included in the message. According to another embodiment is an access router that receives a state change notification from a wireless device or another access router. The state change notification is updated in the access router. An acknowledgment confirming the updated state change may be sent to the wireless terminal. Dynamic state synchronization is provided with minimal communication with wireless terminal.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for time synchronizing one or more parameters in a communication system is provided, wherein the apparatus generates a request message for requesting time synchronization of a parameter, the request message comprises a transaction ID, a requested parameter, and an index value associated with the requested parameter, transmits the generated request message to a first node and receives a response message from the first node, the response message comprises an index associated with the requested parameter and a response value.
Abstract:
The claimed subject matter relates to configuring a host device through utilization of MMP, which is a protocol that is based upon MIP but not associated with several deficiencies associated therewith. In particular, a wireless terminal can be configured to run MMP and send messages that conform to MMP over a wireless link. A base station can be configured to act as a DHCP server. The base station can provide configuration information to host device by way of DHCP.
Abstract:
A device can connect to a network over a first interface to configure and obtain an IP address. To communicate with nodes in a second network, over a second interface, the IP address can be validated by a trusted third party. The validation can include conducting a return routability test to validate a Prefix of the IP address. Cryptographically Generated Address verification can be utilized to verify the validity of an Interface Identifier included in the IP address. If the IP address is validated, the trusted third party can include the address in a verification ticket, which can also include a signature of the trusted third party. The device can provide the verification ticket to nodes in the second network as authentication of the device.
Abstract:
The claimed subject matter relates to systems and methods for processing messages in a wireless communications environment. In an aspect, a communications method is provided. The method includes establishing a communications link though an access component with a network domain node and enabling at least one other communications link through at least one other access component with the network domain node. This also includes enabling concurrent communications with the network domain node via the access component or the other access component.
Abstract:
A method of configuring parameters in a communication system is disclosed, wherein the method comprising determining if an event occurred. If so, then method generating a first electronic envelope by a first process, wherein the envelope comprises an process identification (ID) and attaching the first electronic envelope to a request message, wherein the request message is generated by a transmit process.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate inter-system handover in a wireless communication system. Various aspects described herein provide for handover techniques that enable a target system to be prepared by a mobile device via a source system in order to minimize specific changes required to source system and/or target system. Techniques are described herein in which the radio link of a source system can be utilized to tunnel signaling messages which are in a format understood by a destination node in a target system. Further, fast inter-access handover can be facilitated by establishing a simple generic transmission tunnel between respective network nodes in source and target systems that handle intra-system mobility and providing a Layer 2 (L2) tunneling mechanism over the radio interface of each involved system technology.
Abstract:
The claimed subject matter relates to systems and methods for processing messages in a wireless communications environment. In an aspect, a communications method is provided. The method includes initiating a registration with a network domain node and generating sequence information with respect to the registration. The sequence information is then employed to facilitate further communications with the network domain node.
