In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a base station. The base station receives a configuration from a network management entity, the configuration indicating a non-MBSFN region length of a MBSFN subframe. The base station determines a control region length of the MBSFN subframe based on resource allocation of a unicast subframe. The base station adjusts the control region length to be less than or equal to the non-MBSFN region length when the control region length is greater than the non-MBSFN region length. The base station transmits the MBSFN subframe.
Abstract:
A client device includes a memory comprising a buffer for buffering data having real-time constraints and a hardware-based processor comprising digital logic circuitry. The processor is configured to execute a real-time application configured to determine times during which the data will be available for download, determine a time at which the data is needed to prevent a buffer underrun for the buffer, and when the data is available, send a request for the data and deadline information representative of the time at which the data is needed to avoid the buffer underrun. In this manner, a sending device can prioritize delivery of the requested data to prevent the buffer underrun for the client device.
Abstract:
A technique is disclosed to facilitate dual active connections by a UE device using a transmitter. A first connection is established with a first access node for wireless communication services. A first coexistence indicator provided/sent by the UE device to the first access node indicating that the UE device supports multiple concurrent connections. In response to providing the first coexistence indicator, the UE device receives a first transmit pattern and a first receive pattern. The transmitter may be configure to transmit according to the first transmit pattern for the first connection while sharing transmission resources with at least one other connection.

Methods and devices for dynamic VSIM provisioning on a multi-SIM wireless device having a first SIM as a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) and a virtual SIM (VSIM) stored on an embedded UICC (eUICC). A provisioning server may receive location information from the wireless device indicating that the wireless device is currently roaming and that the SIM profile on the VSIM should be changed. The provisioning server may determine whether remote credential management procedures are enabled. If so,the provisioning server may select a new SIM profile from a plurality of SIM profiles,and provision the new SIM profile in the VSIM stored on the eUICC using remote credential management procedures. If remote credential management procedures are unavailable,the provisioning server may select a remote SIM from a plurality of remote SIMs associated with the provisioning server,and run the remote SIM to execute authentication processes for the wireless device.

The UE determines whether the UE is located within a sub-region of an MBSFN area based on one or more parameters. The UE receives based on the determination a service over broadcast in the sub-region of the MBSFN area or over unicast outside the sub-region. In an aspect, the MBSFN area may be smaller than a unicast area. In an aspect, adaptive retransmission with a group NACK approach may be used to improve an SNR and reliability.

The UE determines whether the UE is located within a sub-region of an MBSFN area based on one or more parameters. The UE receives based on the determination a service over broadcast in the sub-region of the MBSFN area or over unicast outside the sub-region. In an aspect, the MBSFN area may be smaller than a unicast area. In an aspect, adaptive retransmission with a group NACK approach may be used to improve an SNR and reliability.

A method, a user equipment (UE), and a computer program product for maintaining continuity of evolved multimedia broadcast multicast service (e MBMS) broadcast service at the user equipment (UE) are disclosed. The UE detects insufficient eMBMS coverage at the UE, where the UE is receiving eMBMS broadcast content from a network within an MFSFN area supporting the eMBMS broadcast service. The UE receives at least one MBSFN threshold from the network and at least one MBSFN measurement from the network, and determines whether to switch from broadcast to unicast for continued reception of the eMBMS broadcast content based on the at least one MBSFN threshold and the at least one MBSFN measurement.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for wireless communications and more specifically for performing a random access channel (RACH) procedure. According to certain aspects a method for retransmitting a RACH MSG3 message is provided. The method generally includes participating in a random access channel (RACH) procedure with a user equipment (UE), dynamically changing an uplink/downlink subframe configuration from a first uplink/downlink subframe configuration to a second uplink/downlink subframe configuration, during the RACH procedure, detecting a failure to successfully decode a MSG3 message from the UE, and taking action to prevent the UE from re-transmitting the MSG3 message in a subframe that is designated as a downlink subframe after dynamically changing the subframe configuration.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE that performs a PTT/PTX call setup for communication via MBMS. In a first configuration, the UE sets up a unicast bearer with an e NB, and sends group call setup signaling to the eNB while setting up the unicast bearer. In a second configuration, the UE sets up a unicast bearer with an eNB, and receives group call setup signaling from the eNB while setting up the unicast bearer. In a third configuration, the UE receives a group page while in an RRC idle state, and receives group call setup signaling based on information in the group page.

The UE receiving information indicating an available MBMS service, a non-self-standing carrier frequency on which the available MBMS service is provided, and one or more PCC frequencies to which the non-self-standing carrier frequency is attached.The UE selects a preference for one PCC frequency of the one or more PCC frequencies in order to obtain information for receiving the available MBMS service on the non-self-standing carrier frequency.The UE receives the available MBMS service on the non-self-standing carrier frequency based on the obtained information.
