Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a traveling mechanism by equipping a ceramic vibrator for exhibiting operation force based on vibration, a mobile unit that is moved by the operation force, and a detection means for detecting the traveling position of the mobile unit. SOLUTION: In a ceramic vibrator 13 of a lens-traveling mechanism 1, first synthesis vibration is generated when an AC voltage is applied via electrodes P1, P2, Q1, and R1 from an AC power supply, a crimp plate 5 is fed forward, and a mobile unit 4 is guided by guides 9 and 9 for traveling forward. Also, when an AC voltage is applied via the electrodes P1, P2, Q2, and R2, second synthesis vibration is generated, the crimp plate 5 is fed rearward, and the mobile unit 4 is guided by the guide shafts 9 and 9 and are moved rearward. Then, the traveling position of the mobile unit 4 is detected by a detection means 21 consisting of a detection plate 14 and a plate 6 to be detected, thus eliminating the need for a lead screw with length exceeding the traveling range of the mobile unit and hence miniaturizing a lens traveling mechanism by that amount.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a drive mechanism by providing a rotor, a ceramic vibrator for giving rotary force to the rotor, and a drive body that is operated in linking with the rotation of the rotor. SOLUTION: The iris mechanism of a video camera slides stop blades 2 and 3 each other, and changes an opening 4 for adjusting the quantity of light. Then, when a rotor 15 is rotated in a direction of S1, a rotary arm 17 is rotated in the direction of S1 for operating the stop blade 2 in a direction of Z2 and at the same time operating the blade 3 in a direction of Z1 for gradually increasing the opening. On the other hand, when the rotor 15 is rotated in a direction of S2, the opening 4 gradually decreases. Also, when a ceramic vibrator 9 is allowed to conduct electricity from an AC power supply, synthesis vibration consisting of two modes of the bending mode of flex vibration for inducing standing waves in the longitudinal direction and a longitudinal vibration mode for expanding and contracting in the longitudinal direction is generated for exhibiting operation force, thus eliminating the need for arranging each component of a drive mechanism in series and hence miniaturizing the drive mechanism.
