    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a laser plate-making apparatus capable of reducing the generation of a moire and simple in constitution. CONSTITUTION:The oblique line R1 is formed by the head position in the main scanning direction F of an optical cavity 7 formed to a printing plate 5Pa so as not coincide with the oblique line R2 formed by the head position in the main scanning direction F of the cavity 7 positioned next in a sub-scanning direction A. Therefore, when multicolor printing is performed by this printing plate 5Pa, the generation of a moire is reduced. Especially, when the line R3 connecting the predetermined point in the optional cavity 7 and the point present at the position corresponding to the predetermined point of the cavity 7 positioned next in the sub-scanning direction A is set to a constant angle phidifferent from the irradiation angle theta of laser beam, the moire is reduced still more.

Finally, treatment process for obtaining a printed matter through the digital image signal S1 is reduced as compared with an offset printing system and conventional gravure printing system and a time until the printed matter is obtained can be reduced drastically.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain the spacing between a plate sheet surface and an objective lens at a specified value with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:The plate sheet 14 is irradiated with a laser beam L while a revolving roller 78 is pressed to the plate sheet 14 by a compression spring 84 at the time of providing the revolving roller 78 integrally mounted to a laser block 26 and forming recesses 15 on the plate sheet 14. The revolving roller 78 is, therefore, eventually moved in the forward and backward directions (arrow H, I directions) of the plate sheet 14 in compliance with the surface of the plate sheet 14 and, therefore, the specified spacing d between the objective lens 12 and the plate sheet 14 is obtd. at all times if the spacing d is once so adjusted that the focus of the laser beam L is matched with the surface of the plate sheet 14. The surface of the plate sheet 14 is thus irradiated with the laser beam L having the specified laser power meeting the focus. The recesses 15 of the same depth are, therefore, formed on the plate sheet 14.

By changing values of a data ROM 38, gray scale ROM 41, etc. to be equal to the modulation pulse from a pulse generator 39 to make the period of 'on' pulse 75a, to obtain a rectangular pattern 10a or square pattern 10b on the plate sheet 2, longer, the rectangular and square shaped patterns 10a, 10b with an appropriate aspect ratio are obtained. In addition, when the casting angle from the semi-conductor laser 1 is turned by a specified angle clockwise or counterclockwise from an ultra-oval pattern 10 in the horizontal direction, by an angle regulating means 47 provided in a laser block, the pattern becomes like a pattern 10c. When the period of 'on' pulse 75d is taken longer, a lozenge-shaped pattern 10d can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To supply only the surface of a printing original plate efficiently with a small quantity of printing ink, and to facilitate cleaning and exchanging after printing by impregnating a printing-ink supply member with printing ink and pressure-welding the printing-ink supply member to the printing original plate or impregnating printing ink from the base end side of the printing-ink supply member and applying ink to the printing original plate through a sliding and contacting section on the nose side. CONSTITUTION:A printing-ink supply member 5 is composed of a water-absorbing material, and pressure-welded and supported to a printing original plate 2. When a plate cylinder body 1b is turned, printing ink 7 impregnated to the printing-ink supply member 5 is applied. In another example, a printing ink container 10 is formed in a box body shape, the top face side of which is opened, and printing ink 11 is stored. The base end side 9b is dipped into printing ink 11 and a printing original-plate sliding and contacting section 9a on the nose side is pressure-welded to the printing original plate 2 in a water-absorbing printing original-plate sliding and contacting section 9a. Printing ink 7, 11 is applied only onto the surface of the printing original plate 2, and is not applied to both end surface sections of the plate cylinder body 1b. Printing ink 11 on the protruding sections of the printing original plate 2 is scraped off by doctor blades 8, 12, and reused efficiently.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture an intaglio form cylinder by electric signals of small power, by forming a cell by a semiconductor laser on a form surface of a thermoplastic resin sheet the volume of which cell is changed according to the density of an image. CONSTITUTION:A form sheet 6a made of synthetic resin is wound along an outer diameter of a metallic cylinder 17. The sheet 6a is fixed by a countersinking screw or the like 6b to a mother screw in the cylinder. A thermoplastic resin is used for the form sheet 6a which has a relatively narrow distribution of the melting point, and is hard when being set and is dispersed or sublimated at a low temperature when it is melted. A laser beam is radiated to a form cylinder 6 through a focus lens 23, focused on the surface of the form sheet 6a. The surface of the form is melted thereby to disperse or sublimate the synthetic resin. In this case, if the laser is modulated or the radiating time of the laser is changed for each recess 15, the number and size of the recess to which the form material is dispersed or sublimated can be adjusted and the volume of the recess can be made according to the gradation. Accordingly, a cheap intaglio form cylinder can be manufactured in a simple process and therefore even an individual person or an office can manufacture the form cylinder.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality plate cylinder reusable and suitable for printing a modest number of sheets by so providing a thermally-melting type filler in a cell formed on a plate surface that the volume of said filler is changed in correspondence to the density of an image by a laser. CONSTITUTION:A uniform cell 15 is etched with the depth (t) in a network on the plate surface of a plate cylinder 6, so that the whole plate surface is in a solid state at the printing time. Then, a filler 16 of thermally-melting type is applied all over the plate surface. The filler 16 is such that is obtained by allowing carbons or the like to be contained in a wax which has a relatively narrow distribution of melting points, showing some hardness when it is cured and reduced viscosity when it is melted. The filler 16 is scattered by radiating a laser 18 into the cells. In this case,k if the laser is modulated or the radiating time of the laser is changed for each cell, the capacity of a recess in the cell where the filler is dispersed or sublimated can be adjusted. Therefore, the recess 19 having the volume corresponding to the gradation can be formed.
