Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate, a device and a method for detecting fluorescence, which improve the reflectivity of control light.
SOLUTION: A disk-shaped DNA chip is made up by laminating a surface layer 5 where a target DNA and a fluorescent labeling agent can fall in drops from its surface side, and a probe DNA can be immobilized thereto, and a plurality of cells 6 being fields of cross reactions between the probe DNA and the target DNA are formed thereon; a first light transmitting layer 4 which is formed on the lower layer of the surface layer 5; and a plate-like second light transmitting layer 3 which is formed on the lower layer of the first light transmitting layer 4. The second light transmitting layer 3 is irradiated from its rear face side with stimulating light for fluorescence of the fluorescent labeling agent and with the control light used for projecting the stimulating light onto a desired position. The first light transmitting layer 4 has a refractive index value higher than that of the second light transmitting layer 3 and that of solution remaining in the cell 6 after the cross reaction between the probe DNA and the target DNA.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high luminance, high-resolution, and thin display device which does not consume much electric power, and an illuminator thereof. SOLUTION: In a color display device which is provided with a GaN-based light-emitting diode array on a substrate 1 and a red phosphor 5, a green phosphor 6, and a blue phosphor 7 correspondingly to each GaN-based light-emitting diode 2 and causes the phosphors phosphors 5, 6, and 7 to emit light by exciting the phosphors 5, 6, and 7 with light emitted from each diode 2, the phosphors 5, 6, and 7 are constituted of crystals having crystal grain diameters, which are twice that of the exciton Bohr radius or smaller. It is also possible to use the blue light rays emitted from the diodes as they are without providing the blue phosphor 7. When a white phosphor is used, a white illuminator can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To realize ultra-high resolution and simplified recording without necessity of erasing process by utilizing a magneto-optical recording medium comprising a multilayer magnetic film which can be formed by sequentially stacking a reproducing layer, a memory layer and a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optical recording medium 5 is formed by depositing a multilayer magnetic film 3 and a protection film 4 on a substrate such as light transmissive glass substrate, resin substrate or the like through a dielectric material film 2. For reproduction of recorded information, magnetization of reproducing layer is arranged uniformly in the reproducing magnetic field direction disabling readout operation of recorded information within the high temperature region due to temperature distribution in the reproducing light spot and limitedly recorded information can be read in a low temperature region. Thereby, recording can be simplified because the process which once erases total magnetic layer is no longer necessary.
