Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve production yields and productivity as well by restricting possible chipping of tracks, and facilitating the mirror finishing of butted surfaces between groove parts of a base plate. CONSTITUTION: In the formation of a plurality of track width regulating grooves 22 in a block 21, two types of intervals, A(mm) and B(mm), are set. The intervals are arranged alternately while the ratio A/B should be 1/10-1/4. Butted surfaces 21a between the above track width regulating grooves 22 undergoes a mirror finishing to form a pair of magnetic core half body blocks and the butted surfaces 21a are made to face each other to be gap joined being positioned with tracks. Then, the half body blocks are severed according to a specified width. After the mirror finishing of butted surfaces 21a, a metal magnetic film may be formed at least on the butted surfaces 21a. Moreover, the track width regulating grooves 22 are formed by grinding with a 2000-6000 gauge grinding stone and the grinding sectional surface is preferably below 0.05mm .

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make possible the upgrading of resistance to wearing by allowing the obtaining of a high head output even when a magnetic metal material with a general magnetic permeability of about 2,000 is used. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic head, a pair of magnetic core half bodies 7 and 8 which is made up of metal magnetic films 1 and 2 pinched from the direction of the thickness of the films with a pair of non-magnetic substrates 3 and 5 and 4 and 6 are joined integral with the metal magnetic films 1 and 2 butting together and a magnetic gap (g) is formed between the butted surface of the metal magnetic films 1 and 2. A track width Tw of the magnetic gap (g) is regulated with a track width regulation grooves 10a, 10b, 11a and 11b. The metal magnetic films 1 and 2 cross so askew to the direction M of the magnetic head runs as to be linked almost linearly with 5 deg.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease the crosstalks between chips and to improve reproduced output characteristics by winding windings only on the side cores of respective magnetic head chips arranged to face each other in a head traveling direction. CONSTITUTION:The same base 1 is provided thereon with a pair of magnetic head chips 2, 3 having azimuth angles varying from each other apart a prescribed distance in the head traveling direction X facing each other. The head chips 2, 3 consist of center cores 4, 5 and side cores 6, 7 of oxide magnetic materials, such as ferrite, and are gap-joined, by which magnetic gaps g1, g2 acting as recording and reproducing gaps are formed between the butt surfaces thereof. The magnetic gaps g1, g2 are formed in the directions varying from each other in order to prevent the pickup of the magnetic fluxes leaking from the one head chip by the other head chip. The one-side center cores 4, 5 constituting the closed magnetic path are formed as the bar-shaped magnetic cores of a small thickness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To inhibit the cracking of melt bonding glass and ferrite substrates as well as to prevent the corrosion of metallic magnetic films by the melt bonding glass even in the absence of protective films and to suppress the reduction of regenerative output due to decrease of track width. CONSTITUTION:Ferrite substrates 3, 5 are laminated on ferrite substrates 4, 6 with formed metallic magnetic films 1, 2 with glass films 10, 11 in-between and track width regulating grooves 18, 19 are formed in the substrates 3-6 to obtain a pair of magnetic core halves. The objective magnetic head is produced by bonding the magnetic core halves with melt bonding glass 9 with a gap in-between. The glass transition temp. Tg of glass for laminating the substrates 3-6 is made higher than the yield point Tc of the melt bonding glass 9.
