Abstract:
A method for controlling random accesses of UEs in a mobile communication system. The mobile communication system includes Node-Bs, a RNC and a service node which provides information indicating the number of UEs associated with group signaling to the RNC. When the UEs respond to the group signaling, the RNC refers to the number of UEs, calculates a back-off window value indicating a back-off range necessary for controlling the random accesses of the UEs, contains the calculated value in a group signaling message, and transmits the message to the UEs. The UEs randomly select a back-off value within a range based upon the back-off window value and wait for a time period corresponding to the value, and transmit a response message, respectively. Therefore, collision and congestion of radio messages can be mitigated.

This invention proposes a method for sharing MBMS service on Iub interface in mobile communication system, which includes following steps: a Node B MBMS Communication Context (NBMC) is added to Node B logical model, the Node B MBMS Communication Context (NBMC) is created when MBMS Transport Channel is established; A MBMS Data Port is added to Node B logical model, one or more MBMS Data Ports correspond to each MBMS service; A MBMS Control Port, which corresponds to a signaling bearer between RNC and Node B and is used to control Node B MBMS Communication Context (NBMC), is added to Node B logical model.

A method and an apparatus for transmission power control of uplink dedicated physical channels in a CDMA communication system having channels for HSDPA. The method and apparatus enables a node B to reliably interpret an uplink control channel for HSDPA. The method and apparatus can simultaneously control powers of both a control channel for HSDPA and other control and data channels.

An RNC determines parameters available for measurement of a synchronization signal and second Node B information from a second Node B, transmits the determined parameters to a first Node B during radio link setup and to a UE during radio bearer setup, and transmits parameter selection information to the first Node B and the UE. The first Node B changes a position of a downlink time period over which a downlink channel is transmitted from the first Node B to the UE and a position of an uplink time period over which an uplink channel is transmitted from the UE to the first Node B. The UE receives the synchronization signal and the second Node B information in the remaining time periods except the changed downlink time period and the changed uplink time period among the plurality of time periods.

A method and apparatus for sending a broadcast service in a digital broadcasting system. The method includes assigning a same Internet Protocol (IP) address for a common broadcast service when the common broadcast service is provided in at least two IP platforms, each of the at least two IP platforms providing a broadcast service to a terminal; delivering the common broadcast service using the same IP address; and delivering related information relevant to the common broadcast service.

A method and apparatus for providing a broadcast service in a communication system is provided. The method includes creating a seed key pair including a first key and a second key, transmitting the seed key pair to a terminal to which the broadcast service is to be provided, creating a certain number of encryption keys using the seed key pair, the certain number corresponding to a lifetime of the seed key pair, encrypting broadcast service data for the lifetime using the encryption keys, and broadcasting the encrypted broadcast service data.

A method for receiving a broadcast service through a plurality of terminals in a mobile broadcasting system supporting the broadcast service is provided. The method includes sending a registration request message for requesting registration of each of a plurality of terminals from a server associated with a broadcast service, receiving a registration response message from the server in response to each registration request message, sending a service request message to the server through one terminal of the plurality of terminals to request that the broadcast service be provided to the remaining terminals, and receiving, by the remaining terminals, a service response message from the server and the broadcast service.

A method and apparatus is provided for defining and transmitting/receiving a presentation fragment including therein a requirement for a scheme of displaying an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) in a digital broadcast system. The transmission method includes generating a presentation fragment including therein a requirement for terminal presentation; inputting the presentation fragment including therein a requirement for terminal presentation to an ESG data model through encoding; and transmitting the ESG data model to the terminal. The presentation fragment includes ESG's display control information at the terminal.

An apparatus and a method for providing a MultiCast and BroadCast Service (MCBCS) in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system are provided. The method includes receiving a message comprising information relating to a broadcast channel which carries a service guide, from a Base Station (BS), receiving service guides relating to one or more service providers over the broadcast channel using the information, when the received service guides are fragmented service guides having a certain size, generating a unified service guide by reassembling the fragmented service guides and when one service provider is selected, filtering only a service guide of the selected service provider in the unified service guide and displaying the filtered service guide in a display. Thus, the channel transition time can be reduced.
