Abstract:
PCT No. PCT/FI88/00193 Sec. 371 Date Jul. 19, 1989 Sec. 102(e) Date Jul. 19, 1989 PCT Filed Dec. 1, 1988 PCT Pub. No. WO89/05184 PCT Pub. Date Jun. 15, 1989.A procedure and means for filtering and homogenizing liquid substances and for automatic cleaning of the filters. In the procedure are utilized an ultrasonic generator (4) connected in conjunction with the filter unit (1; 2) and ultrasonic oscillators (1.11; 2.11) thereto connected, their power and frequency being controlled on the basis of the differential pressure present across the filter units (1; 2), the liquid pressure acting in the filter unit, the liquid flow rate, signals from liquid temperature pick-ups. In order to enhance the cleaning event of the filter elements (1.2; 2.2) taking place with ultrasonics, the filter unit (1; 2) is emptied during the cleaning phase, making use of compressed air conducted into the filter. In order to facilitate the liquid filtering event and to reduce the need of cleaning action with ultrasonics, during normal filtering an ultrasonic power is maintained which is sufficient for homogenizing the liquid. The filter unit (1; 2) furthermore contains one or several cylindrical filter elements (1.2; 2,2).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a backflushable liquid filter, especially for fuel filtration of an oil burner, with a filter cartridge 6 arranged in a filter housing for separating a liquid inlet E from a filtrate outlet A, and with a backflushing device 20 for the backflushing of the filter cartridge, comprising an operating shaft 21 being rotatable around an axis. In order to create a back¬ flushable liquid filter with good filtration capacity, a plurality of filter candles 7 in the cartridge are arranged on a pitch circle with a perforated plate 8 being associated with the open ends of the filter candles. The operating shaft 21 functions as a flushing passage 23 for fluidic connection of the flushing head 22 to a flushing outlet 17 and has a flushing head 22 being movable as a result of an axial movement of the operating shaft 21 from a neutral position into a flushing position, in which the flushing head 22 butts against the perforated plate. The operating shaft 21 is axially displaceable relative to the flushing head 22 and the fluid connection between flushing head 22 and flushing passage (23) is openable or closable as a result of an axial displacement.
Abstract:
An extended area filter is provided. The extended area filter has sheets of a filter media configured for increased filter media surface area. A plurality of filter media tubes are position in a concentric arrangement about a longitudinal axis of the filter, defining annular inlet volumes and annular outlet volumes, the annular inlet volumes receiving an unfiltered fluid, and the outlet volumes receiving a filtrate passed through the tubes of filter media. A filter apparatus configured for filtering a contaminated fluid and employing extended area filters of the invention is also provided.
Abstract:
A treatment tank in particular for cleaning liquids and/or gases includes a horizontal tray (3) connected with the tank wall (4), a vertical central beam (1) to which the tray (3) is centrally fixed, and one or more prestressed tension bars (2), which extend from the central beam (1) upward-outside at an angle in the direction of the tank wall (4) and are fixed thereto.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter arrangement comprising a plate-shaped filter holder (12) provided with at least one stem-type protruberance (13) having an opening (11), said filter holder (12) being used to receive a filter element (14) in a sealed manner for each protuberance on the raw gas side of the filter holder. In order to ensure that the filter is changed easily with sufficient filtering safety, each filter element (14) is provided with an adapter collar (15) comprising at least one limb (15B; 15D) parallel to the protruberances. Said limb can be placed, from the raw gas side, inside or over the protruberance. A sealing arrangement (16) provided comprises sealing elements (16A, 16B) which are parallel to both the plates and to the protruberances and are used for the at least partial join between the protruberance and the adapter collar.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for increasing the duration of uninterrupted filtering flow by using crossflow filtration and ultrasonic energy with in difficult to filter process liquids (e.g. of the kind having (1) a carrier liquid, (2) coalescing solids particles which tend to adhere and bridge filter element gaps sized substantially larger than such particles, and (3) larger impurity elements to be filtered out of such process liquid and sized larger than such filter element gaps).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to an extremely low-noise, low-vibration elutriation filter which is used to filter e.g. coolant lubricant. In said filter, a filter candle (12) which encompasses an ascending channel (16) is mounted into a separation plate (5) using an uptake tube (15), in such a way that it can be displaced axially. The filter cake which adheres to the exterior of the filter candle (12) is dislodged by means of a rotational body (40) e.g. in disc form, which has a shoulder (42) running along its glide path (41) between the end of said glide path (43) and the start (44) of the same. As soon as a head end-section (20) that is connected to the uptake tube (15) and that can be displaced axially against the force of a spring (21) by the glide path (41) is released from the rotating end of said glide path (43), the accumulated force of the spring (21) accelerates the filter cake (12), in such a way that the filter cake adhering to the filter candle is dislodged, both by the acceleration of the latter (12) and the impact caused when a damping ring, situated between the filter candle (12) and the separation plate (5), strikes said separation plate.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for filtering liquid or pasty substances and/or separating components of the substances and/or particles present therein. The apparatus comprises a vessel (11) containing the substance (12) to be processed. The vessel is surrounded by a casing (13) containing a fluid (14) such as a heat transfer fluid. A sonotrode (19) provided on the casing (13) is arranged to apply high-frequency vibration to the substance (12) via the fluid (14) in order to promote the filtration and/or separation of said substance (12).
