Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for well completion, control and monitoring of processes in a reservoir. A combined prefabricated liner and matrix system (4) with defined properties for fast and simple well and/or reservoir completion, monitoring and control is provided. An embodiment of the combined prefabricated liner and matrix system 4 includes an outer perforated tubular pipe system 6, an inner tubular screen 7, and a matrix 8. A method for control and monitoring of processes in a well or reservoir using the combined liner and matrix system is also described. The combined liner/matrix system may be used in any process equipment, such as reactors, separators and storage tanks. The system may also be used in a gas/oil/water producing or injection well for well completion, control and monitoring.

Abstract: A coolant recycling system for efficiently recycling contaminated machine tool coolant thereby extending the useful life of the coolant. The coolant recycling system includes a support frame, a first tank for receiving contaminated coolant, a second tank for receiving a volume of water and coolant concentrate, and a third tank for treating and cleaning the contaminated coolant. A skimmer apparatus is positioned within the third tank for removing the upper level of contaminants from the coolant for filtering separately from the significant volume of coolant within the third tank. An ozone applicator applies a specific volume of ozone to the coolant during the mixing of the coolant within the third tank which kills mold, yeast, fungus and bacteria while also changing the physical state of dissolved solids for increasing the ability to remove the contaminants from the coolant and micro air bubbles float contaminants to the surface to be skimmed.

Abstract: Cast semi-permeable membranes made from synthetic polymer used in reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and microfiltration are treated with a non-leaching antimicrobial agent to prevent its bio-fouling and bacterial breakthrough. The semi-permeable membranes include a polymeric material and a non-leaching antimicrobial agent that is incorporated into and homogeneously distributed throughout the polymeric material. The polymeric material, in the case of one membrane, may be cellulose acetate. In the case of thin film composite polyamide membranes, the antimicrobial agent is incorporated in a microporous polysulfone layer that is sandwiched between a reinforcing fabric and an ultrathin polyamide material. The invention also includes a treatment of flat and hollow fiber semipermeable membranes made with polysulfones and polyvinylidene fluoride.

Abstract: A fluid treatment apparatus comprises two titanium mesh filters (12,22) connected in series across a flow passage. Each filter (12,22) is irradiated by UV light from respective lamps (13a,13b,23a,23b), so as to kill any micro-organisms trapped on the filters. Backwashing means (18,19,28,19) are provided for backwashing each filter in succession whilst fluid flowing along the passage is filtered by the other filter. In this manner micro-organisms are unable to pass through the apparatus untreated.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are improvements to a water filtration system on a water intake line that prevent the infestation of Zebra Mussels in the water system. The water filtration system filters any water entering the water intake line through a filter having a largest pore size that is small enough to prevent the passage of an eggs or veliger of Zebra Mussels. To prevent accumulation of Zebra Mussels on the filters and the filtration unit, copper screens surround the filters and the water intake to the filtration system. The filters are also provided with threaded ends to facilitate easy and reliable removal and replacement of the filters when needed.
