Abstract:
Embodiments described herein relate generally to devices, systems and methods for producing liquid impregnated surfaces with enhanced durability. In some embodiments, a liquid-impregnated surface includes a first surface having a first roll off angle. A plurality of solid features are disposed on the first surface, such that a plurality of interstitial regions are defined between the plurality of solid features. An impregnating liquid is disposed in the interstitial regions. Furthermore, the interstitial regions are dimension and configured such that that the surface remains impregnated by the impregnating liquid. The impregnating liquid disposed in the interstitial regions defines a second surface which has a second roll off angle less than the first roll off angle. The apparatus also includes a liquid delivery mechanism configured to transfer the impregnating liquid to the interstitial regions.
Abstract:
Apparatus for making a pack tray includes a body with a strip of side walls, the body including an outer envelope lined on the inside with an added sealed plastic film. The apparatus includes at least one station provided with elements for applying glue on a portion at least of the inner surface of the side wall strip of the outer envelope, also called gluing area, before placing a plastic film. The gluing pads include at least one block of a porous material that can, one the one hand, be filled with glue by loading members through a diffusion phenomenon, and that can deposit glue by contact optionally combined with a compression force on the gluing area. The pad is mounted on a bearing structure via members for handling it between expanded positions in which the pad contacts the gluing area for applying glue thereon and a folded position in which the gluing pad is remote from the outer envelope of the pack tray.
Abstract:
A powder coating apparatus and method feeds fine powdered coating material such as thermoplastic type material to a succession of discrete articles passing by the apparatus which includes a vibratory feeder bowl and a spiral track for delivering a substantially constant supply of powder coating material to the articles. A sensor is also used to regulate an amount of powdered coating material supplied to an auger to the vibratory feeder. The invention also provides a powder feed system that deposits an excess of powdered coating material than that required to form the coating and provides for recirculation of the powder not ultimately used to form the coating back to the powder feeding apparatus.
Abstract:
A putty injection tool that is hand held and injects one shot of putty or filler material at a time into a void such as a hole left from setting a nail. The tool is cradled in the curve of the fingers with the hollow tube tip protruding past the fingers. This tool does not hold a cartridge of putty but is loaded each time with putty by pressing the hollow tip into a color matching stick of pliable putty. The tip of the hollow tube is placed against the surface of the void to be filled and the solid shaft is pressed through the hollow shaft to push out the plug of putty into the void. The tool has different sizes and shapes of hollow shafts to allow filling round nail set voids and elongated staple or T-nail voids.

A powder coating apparatus and method feeds fine powdered coating material such as thermoplastic type material to a succession of discrete articles passing by the apparatus which includes a vibratory feeder bowl and a spiral track for delivering a substantially constant supply of powder coating material to the articles, wherein the powdered coating material is mixed with a pressurized airstream that delivers the powdered coating material to the articles. A sensor is also used to regulate an amount of powdered coating material supplied to the auger to the vibratory feeder. The invention also provides a powder feed system that deposits an excess of powdered coating material than that required to form the coating and provides for recirculation of the powder not ultimately used to form the coating back to the powder feeding apparatus.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for forming a fluorescent layer for a black-and-white CRT is disclosed including: a first rotation shaft installed perpendicular to the horizontal plane; a rotation table fixed to the first rotation shaft and integrally formed with a sloped portion, the table being rotated along with the first rotation shaft; a second rotation shaft installed perpendicular to the sloped surface of the sloped portion; and a deposition table fixed to the second rotation shaft and in which a bulb can be mounted.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a glue injector for repairing the cracks on concrete and the process of injection, especially in that the glue in the injector is pushed by the gaseous pressure of carbon dioxide produced by the reaction of chemical decomposition into the crack of concrete. An aqueous solution of citric acid is arranged in the pressure chamber on the top of the injector in this invention, a sodium bicarbonate tablet is placed into the pressure chamber through the aperture thereon, and carbon dioxide gas is gradually released by the reaction of chemical decomposition caused by mixing these two media. The increasing gaseous pressure is used to push the piston in the injector, and push the glue in front of the piston into the crack.
Abstract:
A linear actuated sealant applicator pump for pumping a sealant into an aperture prior to installation of a fastener in that aperture. An air driven linear actuator translates a cam plate carrying a sealant applicator head from a first position in a first direction spaced from and slightly out of vertical alignment with the aperture to which sealant is to be applied. An adjustable stop limits the translation of the cam plate and injector pump. The actuator then continues in the first direction causing the cam plate to follow a cam slot translating the sealant applicator head in a second direction normal to the first direction toward and in vertical alignment with the aperture with the head engaging the edges of the aperture. The engagement of the head with the edges of the aperture prevents further translation of the sealant applicator head into the aperture. The linear actuator continues to move the cam plate along the cam slot after head and aperture edge engagement causing the cam plate to continue to follow the cam slot resulting in the sealant applicator head being forced to translate upwardly in reverse to the second direction providing a pumping action within the applicator head which pumps a pre-selected amount of sealant from the sealant applicator head into the aperture. The linear actuator when reaching a maximum first direction translation position reverses its direction.
Abstract:
A device for injecting a fixing agent for anchoring a fastening element in a drilled hole comprises a sealable container which contains one component of the fixing agent, an injection nozzle, and a plunger which can be pushed into the container. The injection nozzle is arranged on the plunger and the total length of the plunger and the injection nozzle corresponds at least to the depth of the inner space in the container. Around the injection nozzle is provided a sleeve which starts from the base of the plunger. The sleeve is filled with a further component of the fixing agent. The open end face of the sleeve is sealed by a cover having a frangible opening.
Abstract:
A sealant applicator for applying a thin film donut like ring of sealant in and around the top of a rivet hole prior to the installation of a rivet and immediately after the rivet hole has been drilled. The applicator is characterized by having an air operated probe assembly which is held in a retracted position with the center line of the probe displaced from the center line of the rivet hole while the hole is being drilled. Upon the completion of the drilled hole the probe assembly is immediately moved into alignment with the center line of the hole and lowered onto the work piece and a premeasured amount of sealant is uniformly applied to the top of the hole prior to the assembly being retracted and the rivet installed.
