A refuse vehicle according to the present disclosure includes a chassis, a cab coupled to the chassis, a refuse compartment body coupled to the chassis and defining a hopper and a storage volume; and a packer assembly including a packer body coupled to at least one actuator and disposed at least partially within the refuse compartment body, the packer body movable between at least a portion of the hopper and at least a portion of the storage volume, and an enclosure that extends along the refuse body parallel to the chassis, the enclosure at least partially separating the at least one actuator from the refuse compartment.
Abstract:
A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body, a primary ejector, and an auxiliary ejector. The chassis includes a frame and a cab disposed at one end of the frame. The body includes a hopper portion and a storage portion. The width of the storage portion is greater than the width of the hopper portion. The auxiliary ejector has a width equal to the difference between the width of the storage portion and the width of the hopper portion. The primary ejector is selectively repositionable within the hopper portion and the storage portion of the body to at least one of compact refuse therein or eject refuse therefrom. The auxiliary ejector is selectively repositionable within the storage portion of the body to at least one of compact refuse therein and eject refuse therefrom in tandem with the primary ejector.

An ejector for a refuse vehicle including a structural frame, a first shoe, and a second shoe. The structural frame includes a first side plate offset from a second side plate, and the distance between the first side plate and the second side plate defines a side plate spacing. The first shoe is coupled to the first side plate and includes a first surface configured to interface with a first ejector track. The second shoe is coupled to the second side plate and includes a second surface configured to interface with the second ejector track. A lateral spacing between the first surface and the second surface is less than or equal to the side plate spacing such that loading imparted on the structural frame is transmitted directly into the first ejector track and the second ejector track.

A refuse truck has a container for receiving refuse, and a packer panel for compacting refuse. The forces for compacting refuse are provided by hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic cylinders extend through and are coupled to the packer panel. The hydraulic cylinders are telescopic or rod cylinders that have an open length several times their closed length. The hydraulic cylinders provide bi-directional forces so that the packer panel can be pushed away from or pulled towards the front wall of the container.

The present disclosure is directed to a refuse collection vehicle including a vehicle body for receiving, compacting, transporting and ejecting refuse materials of a type using a packer panel that operates reciprocally along in said vehicle body with a connected follower panel in which the receiving and packing arrangement enables refuse to be deposited into a receiving section or area at any time regardless of the reciprocal position of the packer panel and which includes an efficient, low maintenance wiper member design in conjunction with a follower panel attached to the packer panel such that the top surface of both the follower panel and the packer panel are cleaned or swept off during the return or retraction stroke of the packer panel.

An apparatus for collecting refuse, the apparatus comprising a vehicle having a frame formed as two substantially parallel members and a hopper secured to the frame. First and second bins may be connected by respective first and second dumping mechanisms to opposite, exterior sides of the hopper. The first and second dumping mechanisms may selectively and independently move respective first and second bins between stowed positions substantially below the hopper and dumping positions above the hopper. The width between the exterior extremes of the first and second bins when both are in stowed positions may substantially be defined by a summation of the width of the first bin, the distance between the outer extremes of the frame, and the width of the second bin.

The present invention is a truck for paper shredding including means to lift containers of paper, dump them into a shredder. The shreds fall into a hopper from where a ram then compresses and moves the shreds to a storage unit, This compression allows the unit to process significantly more paper shreds before being required to drive to a dumping location.

A manual/automatic side loading and rear discharge refuse collection truck body as disclosed which incorporates full ejection without truck body tipping. A unique packing system as provided which includes a low profile packer panel which operates in a low profile charging material receiving hopper which also features lowered or dropped floor to facilitate optional manual loading. The charging hopper features a low profile which creates a dropped area beneath the forward portion of the storage enclosure so that material deposited in the charging hopper can be fed by the packing system into the storage enclosure through a bottom forward charging opening. A packer-ejector assist panel is provided to assist in clearing material from the dropped area portion of the charging hopper.

A side dump body including a plurality of side dump body units pivotally mounted on a truck or trailer frame. Each of the side dump body units may be individually pivotally moved from a transport position to a dumping position wherein the contents of the dump body units may be dumped from the side of a truck or trailer. A material compactor is provided at the upper end of each of the body units for compacting material within the body unit. The material compactor may be moved from its operative compaction position wherein it overlies the upper end of the body unit to an inoperative position at one side of the body unit so that the body unit may be moved to its dumping position without interference from the material compactor.
