Abstract:
An endless egg conveyor includes an endless element running around a set of rotational wheels and a drive unit defining a conveying direction of the conveyor. The conveyor has an upper run and a lower run and head sections Where the direction of movement of the endless element between the upper run and the lower run is reversed. The conveyor furthermore includes at least one lane of egg retaining pockets coupled to the endless element, moving in the conveying direction. Each of the retaining pockets has a central axis and an tipper receiving opening to receive an egg with a longitudinal axis of the egg generally aligned with said central axis. The retaining pockets are each coupled to the endless element by a bearing structure allowing rotation of the retaining pocket around a rotational axis extending parallel to the rotational axes of said rotational wheels, allowing the retaining pockets to remain in an upright position in every position in the lane. Adjacent retaining pockets of different lanes define a pocket row, wherein, the conveyor comprises carrying elements that carry the pockets of one row. The bearing structure of each pocket row comprises a support arm on either lateral side of the conveyor. The support arm is positioned upright with respect to the circulating endless element and rigidly connected thereto. The bearing structure of said pocket row comprises at least one spindle rigidly connected to the carrying element which pivotally connects the carrying element to the support arms.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for transferring eggs from a upstream first endless roller conveyor (1) to a downstream second endless roller conveyor (2), wherein the eggs during transfer are guided by means of a star wheel unit (3), thereby rotating and taking over the eggs at the very downstream down going end of the first conveyor, guiding the eggs during a downward movement over a saddle (4), and releasing the eggs onto the very upstream end of the second conveyor (2), wherein the first conveyor (1) has a first transporting speed v1 and the second conveyor (2) has a second transporting speed v2, with substantially v2/v1=r, with r a real number>1, wherein at least the second conveyor is transporting the eggs in a transporting direction in a substantial horizontal plane, wherein the eggs are transferred onto an horizontal part of said second conveyor. The system of the invention has appeared very suitable for both remedying breakage of eggs, for increasing egg processing capacities, and for manufacturing conditions. The invention also provides a method for transferring eggs.
Abstract:
An egg chain gripper actuating device for use with an egg transfer device. The device has an egg conveyor with parallel egg chains movable in a transport direction, each chain supporting egg grippers, which can be individually actuated. The device further comprises an egg receiving unit with a receiving area for receiving eggs released by the egg grippers, and one group of one or more actuators for each egg chain for selectively actuating passing egg grippers. Multiple support frames are provided, each supporting one or more groups of actuators. At least one frame is adjustable parallel to the transport direction and relative to another frame, such that the position of the actuators of the one or more groups supported by the frame can be adjusted relative to the position of the one of more actuators of the one or more groups supported by the other frame.
Abstract:
A roll out and conveyance unit of an egg collector includes endless conveyors which have orbit in the vertical direction on at least portions and are rotationally driven, rotary support portions which support rotation of the endless conveyors, a plurality of egg receiving portions which are attached to the endless conveyors at an equal interval and receive and hold eggs, and a roll out machinery portion which includes an initiation side roll out support portion and a termination side roll out support portion, and discharge plates which are provided so as to project from a termination side rotational shaft of the termination side roll out support portion, make contact with the egg which has been received by the egg receiving portion and has not been rolled out in the vicinity of the termination position to press the egg toward the cumulative egg collection conveyor.
Abstract:
A conveyor for shock-sensitive products includes a conveyor member with at least one intermediate storage region adapted to receive a predetermined number of the products placed thereon when the conveyor is a static condition for temporary intermediate storage. A force measuring member determines the weight force of the products in the intermediate storage region. A control member, adapted to increase and decrease the rate of feed of the shock-sensitive products in the conveyor member, processes the weight force detected by the force measuring member as an input parameter, and increases or reduces the rate of feed of the products toward and away from the intermediate storage region as a function of the weight force.
Abstract:
A conveying and orienting system for handling eggs including a main conveyor for supporting thereupon a plurality of eggs and for segregating the same into individual file lines prior to delivery to a spool bar conveyor for subsequent egg handling operations. One or more return conveyors are positioned alongside the main conveyor and communicate with the main conveyor at first and second end locations. A control mechanism independently adjusts a travel speed of at least one of the main and return conveyors, this in order to redirect, along the return conveyors for reintroduction onto upstream locations of the main conveyor, a plurality of eggs which exceed of the present handling capabilities of the individual segregating lanes and spool bar.
Abstract:
A transfer system for providing faster and increased volume processing of eggs having an overhead positioned egg conveyor. A rotating brush wheel positioned underneath the conveyor receives eggs and includes a first and second pluralities of bristles having, respectively, lesser and greater stiffness. An egg receiving reservoir exhibits a receiving lane positioned underneath and in alignment with the brush wheel for receiving and redirecting the eggs in a lane dedicated fashion to a subsequent egg handling operation. A plurality of spool bars are arranged in parallel extending and spaced apart fashion and defining a number of individual egg conveying lanes and each further include first and second spool bar portions secured in end-to-end fashion to establish an overall dimension. First and second drive supports are arranged at opposite ends of the spool bar portions, a third drive support arranged within the egg transfer mechanism and supporting opposing and intermediate engaging ends of each pair of spool bar portions. The intermediate drive support prevents sagging of the intermediate ends of the spool bar portions
Abstract:
An end of arm tool that is capable of handling fragile items such as eggs that are packaged in containers (e.g., egg cartons) that require special handling is provided. The end of arm tool comprises pivotal clamps operated by sliding-contact linear actuators and return springs. A retractable gripper for placing divider sheets between packages in the cases may be disposed above the clamps and oriented 90 degrees from the clamps, so that the clamps and gripper may be attached to the same tool without either obstructing the operation of the other. In addition, a method of loading packages, and optionally divider sheets, into cases using the end of arm tool apparatus of the present invention is provided.
Abstract:
Egg lifting apparatus are provided that include a vacuum housing having first and second passageways, a venturi assembly in fluid communication with the first and second passageways, and a flexible cup secured to the vacuum housing, wherein the flexible cup has an interior that is in fluid communication with the vacuum housing second passageway. The venturi assembly produces subatmospheric pressure within the second passageway upon the flow of air through the first passageway. The flexible cup is configured to engage and retain an egg in seated relation therewith when subatmospheric pressure is provided within the flexible cup interior via the vacuum housing second passageway.
