Abstract:
A method of operating a building elevator system within a building having a plurality of floors is provided. The method including: controlling a first elevator group composed of one or more elevator systems configured to serve a plurality of floors within a first sector, the one or more elevator systems in the first elevator group further include a first elevator car; controlling a second elevator group composed of one or more elevator systems configured to serve a plurality of floors within a second sector, the one or more elevator systems in the second elevator group further include a second elevator car; monitoring usage of the first elevator group and second elevator group; and reassigning at least one of the one or more elevator systems of the second elevator group to the first elevator group in response to usage of the first elevator group and usage of the second elevator group.
Abstract:
In an elevator system using multiple-deck elevator cars (130, 132), an elevator passenger (154) travels between a floor in a first zone (170) in a building (120) and a floor in a second zone (172) in the building (120). The passenger (154) travels first from one of the zones (170, 172) to a ground floor lobby (100, 101). Within a given amount of time after arriving at the lobby (100, 101), the identified passenger (154) is allowed to place an elevator call for an elevator traveling to the other zone (170, 172). Even if the call is for a destination floor not usually served from the particular ground floor lobby (100, 101), the passenger (154) is allowed to travel to the destination floor as requested.
Abstract:
A ropeless elevator system (80) is disclosed. The ropeless elevator system (80) may include a plurality of elevator cars (24), a first hoistway (22), a second hoistway (26), an upper transfer station (34), and a lower transfer station (36). Movement of each of the plurality of elevator cars (24) may be controlled according to a predetermined assignment (90, 112) in which: a plurality of floors (101-110, 121-130) is divided into a plurality of floor groups (92, 94, 114, 116), each of the plurality of elevator cars (24) is assigned to at least one of the plurality of floor groups (92, 94, 114, 116), and each of the plurality of elevator cars (24) is dispatched only to floors within the at least one floor group assigned thereto.
Abstract:
An elevator system includes at least one elevator group control with a destination control system, at least one elevator group having elevators with a different destination range, destination operating panels at each landing comprising an input for issuing destination calls, car operating panels located in the elevators having an input for the input of destination calls, hall lanterns for each elevator indicating the moving direction of the corresponding elevator, a signaling device for each elevator indicating the arrival of an elevator at the landing, whereby the DCS controls the hall lantern means to indicate the moving direction of the elevators and wherein the DCS is further configured to activate the signaling device when elevators of the group(s) arrive at a landing. The DCS is configured to display after the issue of a destination call at the DOP a range identifier of the elevators serving the destination, which range identifier is indicative of the elevator's destination range, and to indicate the next arriving elevator by activation of its signaling device before its arrival at the landing, whereby the range identifier of each of the elevators of the elevator system is located in its vicinity. This elevator system offers sophisticated transport capacity even under conditions where the passengers are not familiar with the use of a destination call system, e.g. on cruise ships.
Abstract:
An elevator system comprises at least two independently operable elevator cars in each of a plurality of elevator shafts within a building. The elevator system can include at least one first elevator shaft having a first and a second region, with the first region extending from a ground level to sub-ground levels, and with the second region extending from the ground level to a top floor. A first elevator car may move within the first region and a second elevator car may move within the second region, in the same shaft independently of each other.
Abstract:
An elevator system includes at least one shuttle elevator and at least two local elevators, the elevator cars of which are arranged to travel in the same elevator hoistway such that they can serve at least one shared transfer floor of a transfer level. The control system of the elevator system receives destination calls given from a destination call appliance, forms a plurality of route alternatives and allocates a destination call to one or more elevators by selecting the best route alternative. When allocating a destination call, the control system takes into account that the elevator cars of the local elevators that travel in the same elevator hoistway cannot simultaneously be at a shared transfer floor in cases in which the route alternative includes a part-trip with a local elevator and a change of elevator at a shared transfer floor.
Abstract:
An elevator system includes at least two independently operable elevator cars in an elevator shaft. The elevator system includes a virtual landing.
Abstract:
An elevator system comprises at least two independently operable elevator cars in each of a plurality of elevator shafts within a building. The elevator system comprises at least one first elevator shaft having a lower first and a lower second region, where a first elevator car moves within the lower first region of the first elevator shaft and a second elevator car moves within the lower second region. The first and second elevators are moveably controlled independently of each other within the first shaft. The system also includes at least one second elevator shaft having an upper first and an upper second region, where a third elevator car moves within the upper first region of the second elevator shaft and a fourth elevator car moving within the upper second region. The third and fourth elevator cars also are moveably controlled independently of each other.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method and a system for modernizing at least one elevator group, which comprises a plurality of elevators, a group control that controls the elevator group as well as call-giving appliances connected to the group control via the landing appliance bus. According to the solution a new group control, new call-giving appliances for the floor levels and also a new landing call bus are installed in the elevator group; a new group control is connected to the pushbutton interface of the old call-giving appliances for transmitting calls given by passengers from the new group control to the old group control. The elevator calls given by passengers are divided between the modernized subgroup and at least one unmodernized subgroup on the basis of the given selection criterion, and a call addressed to the modernized subgroup is allocated in the new group control to the modernized elevators or a call addressed to the unmodernized subgroup is transmitted via the pushbutton interface to the unmodernized subgroup.
