Abstract:
An elevator system including a push button type hall operating panel that allows a user to make destination floor call registration in an elevator hall, and a method for controlling the elevator system. To perform a special operation for a special user at a low cost, the hall operating panel includes a function button as a button for changeover between a mode of inputting a destination floor during a normal operation and a mode of inputting an ID number used to execute the special operation. The ID number is inputted by a destination floor input section, and the special operation related to the inputted ID number is executed.
Abstract:
In an elevator system in which a user registers a destination call by inputting his or her personal information before boarding an elevator car, it is ensured that information on an assigned car can be appropriately provided, and that the user is able to easily make sure of the elevator car to board even after the registration of a destination call. For this purpose, there are installed in an elevator hall or the like a destination call registration device with which a user registers a destination call before boarding the elevator car and an assigned car confirming device with which a user makes sure of an assigned car by inputting his or her personal information. When an elevator has been assigned to a destination call registered from the destination call registration device, regarding the destination call for which the assignment has been performed, information on an assigned car and personal information of a user are stored in storage means by associating these pieces of information with each other. When personal information of a user has been inputted, the assigned car confirming device provides information on the assigned car of the user on the basis of the personal information and the memory content in the storage means.
Abstract:
An elevator system (20) includes a transceiver (22) that receives at least one wirelessly transmitted signal (24). In one example, a signaling device (26) includes a plurality of switches (28) that can be activated to provide a signal indicating a desired or intended destination. The signal also provides an indication of the individual from whom the signal is received. A system controller (30) responds to the signal by assigning an elevator car (32) to travel to the intended destination. When the elevator car (32) is situated to receive the individual, in the event that another wireless signal is received, the system provides at least one access feature including delaying closing an elevator car door or generating an audible sound to guide the individual to the car. In one example, the system maintains information regarding expected locations of individuals providing such signals to facilitate providing assistance to them for exiting a building, for example.
Abstract:
An elevator control method and system. The system comprises a control unit and a memory unit. The memory unit comprises user data segments associated with users for elevators within the system and transponder identification data segments associated with transponders. The method comprises receiving by the control unit, ID signals from the transponders. The control unit associates the user data segments with the ID signals and determines priority levels for the users.
Abstract:
An elevator control system includes an entrance person authentication section provided at a predetermined distance from an elevator hall for permitting a visitor to use an elevator and register a call of the elevator. A storage section stores a predetermined estimated move time value for the visitor to move from the entrance person authentication section to the hall. An arrival detection section detects the elevator arriving at the hall. A timer starts to count based on permission of the entrance person authentication section and sets an arrival time value when the arrival detection section detects the elevator arriving at the hall. A display notifies a passenger in a car or at the hall of a presence of the visitor. If the arrival time value is shorter than the estimated move time value, the display is activated.
Abstract:
The present invention combines a residential elevator and automatic pet door with an intelligence component comprised of a Programmable Logic Controller with programmed intelligence that enables interoperability between the residential elevator and automatic pet door. In practice a pet will wear a collar with an attached or embedded transmitter. As the pet approaches the elevator door, the swing door will open and the accordion gate will open. If the elevator is at another level when the pet approaches, a call will be submitted to bring the elevator to the pet's level. The swing door and gate will open automatically when the elevator arrives. The gate and door will remain open long enough for the pet to enter the elevator and close automatically. The call to another floor will automatically be submitted to the elevator based on the current floor location.

Abstract:
A method for allocation of a user to a elevator installation, which is provided with a plurality of elevator cars and with a destination call control unit, wherein the user lodges a destination call at the destination control unit using a communications unit. The destination call control unit determines a group of elevator cars for serving the destination call and makes the group known to the user by the communications unit. The user selects an elevator car from the group by the communications unit. In addition, information for guiding the user to the selected elevator car is communicated to the user by the communications unit.
Abstract:
The invention provides an elevator cab equipped with an emergency medical device, such as an automated external defibrillator (AED). The elevator cab equipped with the emergency medical device may be controlled in order to deliver the emergency medical device to a floor of a building on which an emergency medical situation occurred. In response to emergency medical input identifying the emergency medical situation, an elevator control unit overrides regular operation of the elevator cab in response to receiving emergency medical input, and directs the elevator cab to a floor on which an emergency medical situation occurs. For example, the elevator control unit may cancel active floor calls made by passengers within the elevator cab or individuals on one or more floors of the building and direct the elevator cab to the floor of the emergency situation.
Abstract:
A system enables a handicapped person to select a destination floor in an elevator using a single control and comprises a first mechanism to sequentially enumerate potential destination floors, a second mechanism enabling user selection of a desired destination floor by interacting with the single control when the desired destination floor is enumerated by the first mechanism, and a third mechanism to coupled a signal from the second mechanism to command the elevator to halt at the user-selected designation floor. The system may be disposed within and/or without the elevator.
