Abstract:
Spherical or spheroid grains made of diamond, cubic boron nitride (CBN) or structured ceramic materials are used to produce structural elements and components in micromechanics, microelectromechanics, sensor and medical technology, tribology and related fields, for example to produce ball bearings, low abrasion and low attrition sliding surfaces, ball or globe valves, submillimetric pumps and micropumps, micropumps for feeding the smallest amounts of gasses, powders or liquids and for producing micropistons, as well as highly accurate microsyringes for injecting volumes from 1 mu l down to 1 al(1 10 1).
Abstract:
An electrorheological material comprising a carrier fluid and an atomically polarizable particle component. The atomically polarizable particle component has a crystalline lattice structure which allows atoms to shift position with respect to each other in response to the application of an electric field. The electrorheological materials are subjected to an alternating current electric field at a frequency of at least 500 Hz. The materials exhibit substantial electrorheological activity over a broad temperature range.
Abstract:
In the cold drawing of steel tubing, an excellent lubrication which permits drawing the tubing while retaining its original metallic luster can be achieved by first contacting the surfaces of the tubing, both exterior and interior, with a colloidal titatium containing aqueous composition, drying the tubing, and then applying to the surface of the tubing a liquid lubricating composition comprising (i) from 40 to 95 % of a first component selected from the group consisting of olefin/oil or olefin/fat compounds which contain from 23 to 30 % of sulfur and olefin/higher ester compounds which contain from 23 to 30 % sulfur, including mixtures of two or more chemical species meeting this description; and (ii) from 5 to 50 % of a second component selected from the group consisting of oil soluble polymer compounds, fats and oils, synthetic oils, mineral oils, higher fatty acids, and the amine salts of higher fatty acids.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a slider of a synthetic resin containing polyethylene as a main component, characterized in that the slider consists of an injection molded product of polyethylene having a viscosity average molecular weight of 500,000-6,000,000, the slider having a low coefficient of friction and, moreover, both excellent abrasion resisting characteristics and excellent characteristics of preventing another material from being worn out.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel lubricant and a friction modifier containing a solid lubricant and a binding agent as needed in an aqueous medium. SOLUTION: The problem to be solved is appropriate to lubricate steel-steel interfaces (e.g., tractor-trailer couplings, rail-wheel systems and other heavy duty applications). The invention is attained by a composition containing a friction modifier having a high or very high positive coefficient of friction such that the coefficient of friction is considerably higher than that of the solid lubricant. The invention further relates to a composition containing the binding agent and the friction modifier having a high or very high positive coefficient of friction in an aqueous medium. Abstract:
The present invention provides a grease composition which is excellent in peel resistance, not to mention lubricity, as compared with the prior art products. A novel grease composition for rolling bearing is provided, comprising a base oil, an extender, an inorganic compound-based filler having an average particle diameter of not more than 2 mum and zinc dithiocarbamate.
