    Abstract: Floor panels are shown, which are provided with a mechanical locking system comprising a tongue with rocker arms that allows locking by a vertical turning motion. The tongue has an inner part mounted in a sideward open fixation groove in a first edge and an outer part extending beyond a vertical plane, the inner part is fixed in the sideward open groove, wherein the tongue has at least one rocker arm extending in the length direction of the tongue, the rocker arm having a displaceable pressing protrusion that during locking is in contact with a second edge and a displaceable locking protrusion that in locked position cooperates with a tongue groove, wherein the locking protrusions are displaced outwardly away from the main tongue body when the pressing protrusion is pressed and displaced inwardly towards the inner part of the tongue.

    Abstract: A floating floor system and a floor panel and method for use with the same that includes a snap-fit locking assembly that provides vertical locking between adjacent floor panels to minimize and/or prevent ledging therebetween. In one embodiment, a protuberance and a recess are also provide on the floor panels to provide horizontal locking. The snap-fit locking assembly comprises: a locking member protruding from a first flange and comprising an undercut surface; and a locking slot formed in a second flange. The snap-fit locking assembly is configured so that when the locking member of a first one of the panels is disposed within the locking slot of a second one of the panels, the first and second panels are vertically locked together via mechanical interaction between the undercut surface of the locking member of the first panel and a locking surface of the second flange of the second panel.

    Abstract: A flooring system may comprise a top floor layer, a subfloor, and/or an underlayment material disposed between the sub-floor and the top floor layer. The top floor layer may include a plurality of luxury vinyl tiles, configured such that respective tile joints may be formed between adjacent luxury vinyl tiles. The underlayment material may comprise a cross-linked, polyolefin foam. The composition of the underlayment material may be such that the tile joints between the adjacent luxury vinyl tiles may bend by less than about 45 degrees over a twelve hour period when 3.1 pounds per square inch (psi) of pressure is applied. The underlayment material may have a compressive creep of less than fifty percent of an original thickness associated with the underlayment material at a load of 3.1 psi and/or a compressive strength of more than 15 psi.
