Abstract: Floor tiles, systems and methods of interconnecting floor tiles in which the tile(s) have a base substrate and a laminate layer. The substrate can have upstanding edges on a top surface where the edges define a rim at a perimeter of the substrate for aligning the laminate layer on the top surface of the substrate. The substrate can have connecting means for engaging with connecting means of a substrate of another tile to form an interconnected floor system. By engaging the connecting means of a tile with another tile aligns and positions a side edge of the tile with the side edge of the another file in a side by side arrangement to provide a grout effect for the tiles when they are connected.

Abstract: Floor panel comprising a substrate (6) and a top layer (7); wherein the substrate (6) substantially consists of a thermoplastic material; wherein the top layer (7) is at least composed of a print (9) and a transparent thermoplastic layer (10) situated above said print (9); wherein the floor panel (1) is provided with mechanical coupling means (18) which are substantially realized in said substrate (6); characterized in that the floor panel (1) comprises at least one layer (55) with a density of more than 650 kilograms per cubic meter; that the top layer (7) of the floor panel (1) comprises a back layer (8), which is situated between the print (9) and the substrate (6) and which comprises soft PVC; that the back layer (8) extends above the center line determined by the coupling means; and that the top layer (7) is connected to the substrate (6) by means of a glue layer.

Abstract: A new interlocking or interconnection mechanism for securing floor covering panels is invented, whereas the covering panels can be any sizes, shapes, structures, and of any materials. The mechanism is consisted of independent features rendering the vertical and the lateral couplings, where vertical is defined as the direction perpendicular to the surface of the panel that is exposed and lateral is defined as the direction parallel to the exposed surface. The new mechanism provides a gradual progressive tightening effect during the installation process for securing the panels, which is completely different from the outcome by all the existing mechanisms including tongue-and-groove, snap-on, etc.

Abstract: A floor panel has a rectangular and oblong shape, and includes a substrate and a top layer provided on the substrate and forming a decorative side of the floor panel. The top layer is composed of a print provided on a carrier sheet and a transparent thermoplastic layer situated above the print. The substrate has a thickness from 2 to 10 millimeter and forms at least half of the thickness of the floor panel. The substrate is a polyurethane-based substrate and the transparent thermoplastic layer is polyurethane-based. The floor panel has a length of more than 1.1 meters and has a plurality of reinforcing layers situated outside the center line of the substrate. A reinforcing layer may be provided in combination with the substrate and the top layer.
