Abstract:
When a sliding door (3) as a plate-like object is moved in a front and rear direction from a closed position to an opening preparation position, a rotatable rail (20) rotates from a horizontal lying position to a vertical standing position about a rotation axis (L1). When the sliding door is in the opening preparation position, a roller (40) of the sliding door (3) rides on a running track (25b) of the rotatable rail (20). When the sliding door (3) is further moved from the opening preparation position to an open position, the roller (40) transfers from the running track (25b) to an auxiliary track (26) of an adjacent rotatable rail (20). The rotatable rail (20) is biased toward the standing position by an elastic force of a torsion spring (18) and maintained in the standing position by an arm (13). This allows the sliding door (3) to be returned to the opening preparation position.
Abstract:
A sliding assistance mechanism for helping a switching operation of a moving body on a main body side from a first position to a second position, or from the second position to the first position, includes a case 1 attached to the main body side; first and second moving members (sliders 2A, 2B) slidably placed in the case 1, respectively; a pair of latches 5, 5 pivotally supported at each moving member, respectively, and releasably locked to corresponding parts of a case side; and an urging device 3 provided between both moving members. When the moving members are halfway switched to the first position from the second position, or to the second position from the first position, an engagement of one of the latches is released by an engagement pin 9 additionally provided in the moving body, and the engagement pins are pulled with the latch into the first position or the second position with an approaching drive through the moving members and the urging device 3 to a side of the other latch.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly (20) including a first magnetic member (21) and a second magnetic member (22) is described. The polarities of opposing end surfaces of the first magnetic member and the second member are different. The second magnetic member is configured for rotating relative to the first magnetic member to generate a magnetic moment. In addition, an exemplary portable electronic device (100) equipped with the hinge assembly is also described.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly for use with a pivotally movable closure panel is operable to provide a counterbalancing force to lock or hold the closure panel in an open configuration against a predetermined threshold closure force without the need of separate support components such as gas-charged struts or prop rod. The hinge assembly is provided with upper and lower hinge arms which are pivotally connected towards their rearward ends for movement relative to each other for pivotal movement about a hinge pivot axis. A generally elongated or guide slot is formed in the lower hinge arm. A prop arm is pivotally secured at a first end to a forward portion of the upper hinge arm forwardly from the hinge pivot axis. A sliding member is secured toward the second other end of the prop arm and engages the guide slot so as to be reciprocally movable therealong as the hinge arms are moved between a fully closed and fully open positions. The guide slot includes an operational section and an engaged section. A resilient biasing member is used to engage and bias the sliding member forwardly relative to the guide slot as it moves through the engaged section while disengaging from or passively engaging the sliding member as it moves along the operational section of the guide slot.
Abstract:
A catch brake for a trunk lid of a motor vehicle is proposed, as well as a trunk lid opening system for slowing the opening movement of the trunk lid upon reaching its open position, a tubular hinge bail (3) of the trunk lid being braked in a substantially U-shaped receiver (4) by a clamping action and prevented from rebounding, the receiver (4) being provided with tapering lateral brake cheeks (5) with a continuous taper in the direction of the opening movement, so that a narrowing clamping receiver is formed.
Abstract:
A rotary damper includes a cylindrical member having walls on an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical chamber along a radial line, and a rotor member having vanes moving along the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical chamber. A resistance force of a viscous fluid filled in the cylindrical chamber is applied to the vanes when the cylindrical member rotates relative to the rotor member. The rotor member is formed of a thermoplastic resin containing inorganic filler or fiber. Thus, the rotor member having high strength can be obtained.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a door opening assist device comprising a spring-biased piston having a threaded bore mounted in a cylindrical housing by a threaded bolt. The piston retains a spring within the housing at a first end of the housing. The threaded bolt engages the piston from a second end of the housing. The piston is retained within the housing by the cooperative engagement between the spring urging the piston out of the first end and the head of the bolt in abutment with the second end. The door opening assist device is installed in a door frame of an automobile to push the door open a predetermined distance. The door opening assist device provides various mounting options. Upon closing the door, the door abuts and retracts the piston into the housing compressing the spring. Upon unlatching the door, the piston extends under spring bias in such a direction and with sufficient force to push the door to an open position a predetermined distance. The cooperative engagement between the bolt and the piston provides adjustment feature to tailor the opening characteristics of the door opening assist device to control the opening of the door.
Abstract:
An actuating arrangement and method for opening and closing a hinged motor vehicle panel utilizes a controllable fluid drive and an uncontrolled fluid drive. The hinged motor vehicle panel is driven during opening from a starting position to a predetermined opening angle by the controlled fluid drive and, after reaching the predetermined angle of opening, is driven into its final position exclusively by the uncontrolled fluid drive.
Abstract:
Remote control equipment for remotely opening a vehicle door. A manual operated remote control transmitter transmits a signal to a receiver mounted on the vehicle which causes door mounted motor actuators to unlock and unlatch the door after which a prebiased mechanical door opener functions to open the door wide enough to permit ready access to the vehicle.
Abstract:
A trigger has an upper board and a lower board. The lower board is detachably mounted on the upper board and has an open slot and an elongate board. The open slot is formed through an end of the lower board, and the elongate board is formed on the middle of the open slot and extends to the end of the lower board. The free end of the elongate board is bent perpendicularly to the elongate board. The door track with the trigger includes two installation boards, and two ribs are formed on the two installation boards respectively and extend toward each other. The upper board is mounted on the top surfaces of the ribs of the installation boards, and the lower board is mounted on the bottom surfaces of the ribs. When the sliding door collides with the trigger, the trigger can be deformed and prevents the slider of the sliding door from being restricted by the trigger.
