Abstract:
An arrangement for gasifying solid fuel includes a gasification reactor for producing further oxidizable product gas from solid fuel and a gas treatment reactor arranged in a flow direction of the product gas in gas flow connection with the gasification reactor. The gas treatment reactor includes a supply for supplying oxygenous gas to the gas treatment reactor for partial oxidization of product gas and for thermal cracking thereof. A radiation heat exchange cooler for cooling the product gas is arranged in connection with the gas treatment reactor to solidify melt components in the product gas. A discharge connection is arranged in the lower portion of the radiation heat exchange cooler for removing solidified melt components from the radiation heat exchange cooler. A method of gasifying solid fuel in a gasification reactor is also presented.
Abstract:
A process and relating apparatus is provided which aim at producing industrially usable resultants from hydrocarboneous materials such as used rubber, plastic and municipal waste. The waste is subjected to oxygen-free pyrolysis in the presence of zeolite type catalyst during which gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons are produced with the process being tilted towards producing significantly more from the latter. The gaseous and liquid resultants are preferably further used via burning to provide heat for the pyrolysis and via combustion to generate electricity for preferred purposes respectively.
Abstract:
An apparatus which includes: a carbonizer (1) which pyrolyzes a biomass to yield a pyrolysis gas and a carbonization product; a furnace (2) in which the carbonization product supplied from the carbonizer (1) is burned; a closed vessel (3) which is disposed in the furnace (2) and holds therein a carbonate (4) which has been melted by the heat generated by the carbonization product burned in the furnace (2); an introduction pipe (5) disposed so that the pyrolysis gas is introduced into the molten carbonate (4) in the closed vessel (3); and a fuel gas supply pipe (6) disposed so that a fuel gas, which is the pyrolysis gas sent through the introduction pipe (5), passed through the molten carbonate (4), and purified by reaction with the molten carbonate (4), is sent from the closed vessel (3) to the outside of the furnace (2).

Abstract:
A waste processing system and method is described. The waste processing system may be used to treat any type of waste material that may be decomposed upon the application of energy, wherein recyclable metal and/or a gaseous end product is/are generated which may have commercial or industrial applications. The waste material may be reduced in size and passed to a purge vessel where the oxygen content of the waste material is reduced. The waste material is then heated in a heat exchanger which may be linearly elongated and passed to a conversion chamber where it is treated with H—H—O gas torches. A final gaseous end product is generated which may be used as a fuel source.
Abstract:
A system is provided with a segmented solid feed pump having a plurality of pump segments disposed along a closed-loop path. The plurality of pump segments are coupled together in series along the closed-loop path, and the plurality of pump segments move along the closed-loop path. Furthermore, each pump segment includes a holding receptacle.

Abstract:
A waste treatment system processes waste upon the application of energy. The system includes a vessel, and a plurality of plasma torches. Organic and/or inorganic waste may be introduced into the vessel, and the plasma torches may supply energy to treat the waste. The vessel is shaped to facilitate a cyclonic or substantially cyclonic flow of the contents within the vessel. The plasma torches may be positioned to enhance the cyclonic flow within the vessel.
Abstract:
In one aspect, the present invention provides a biomass gasifier comprising a reactor. The reactor includes (i) an inlet for biomass, (ii) an inlet for an oxygen-containing gas, (iii) an inlet for steam, (iv) an outlet for reactor product gas, (v) an outlet for ash, (vi) a biogas exit conduit coupled to the outlet for the reactor product gas and (vii) an inlet for a secondary oxygen source. The biogas exit conduit includes a catalytic partial oxidation unit, the catalytic partial oxidation unit is substantially restricting the biogas exit conduit. A system and method for biomass gasification is also provided.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for separating a material into its organic and inorganic components are disclosed. The material is heated under negative pressures in the presence of a minimal amount of oxygen to separate into vapor and solid phases. The vapor phase is removed and cooled, and the solid phase is removed and processed. Depending on the material being treated, the method and apparatus can produce fuel and commercial products. The methods and apparatus of the present invention produce little or no air emissions and conserve energy.
