Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for interrupting fax advertisements is provided to reduce indiscriminate fax advertisements, thereby reducing the quantity of paper consumed and receiving important facsimiles at a proper time. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter telephones a receiver. A device for interrupting fax advertisements in the receiver requests the transmitter to input an authentication number. The transmitter inputs the authentication number by using a dial keypad of a facsimile. The device for interrupting fax advertisements confirms the authentication number. If the inputted authentication number corresponds with a set authentication number, the device for interrupting fax advertisements passes a fax signal to a facsimile of the receiver. If the inputted authentication number does not correspond with a set authentication number, the device for interrupting fax advertisements sends a message so that the transmitter makes inquiry about the authentication number.
