The present invention is a digital printer comprising a marking apparatus (412) adapted to print images, a first electrical interface (452) for connecting to a digital camera, a second electrical interface (494) for connecting to a computer (496), and a processor (420) for detecting when the digital camera is connected to the first electrical interface, for controlling the marking apparatus to print images provided from the digital camera when the digital camera is connected to the first electrical interface, and for controlling the marking apparatus to print images provided from the computer over the second interface when the digital camera is not connected to the first electrical interface.

A portable display, which is easy to be taken with and can connect to various electronic devices for processing image data, includes a display device and a rotating connectible base, wherein the display device converts a digital image data into an image and presents it, and a connecting base is disposed on the side of the display device, while the rotating connectible base is placed in the connecting base, such that the display device rotates coaxially at any angle, and can be connected through a connection to an electronic device having the same specification as the connection, and converts the image data into a visible information and presents it onto the display.

A cradle for a digital camera. When a digital camera is set in a retainer of the cradle, side portions of a wall formed at the retainer are disposed to shield a charging terminal and a USB terminal formed at a lower portion of a side surface of a casing of the digital camera. Thus, a charging cord and a USB cord cannot be connected directly to the charging terminal and the USB terminal when the digital camera has been set in the digital camera cradle. That is, when the digital camera is set in the cradle, it is possible to prevent redundant connection of connecting cords to any ones of a plurality of connecting terminals formed in the digital camera that are of kinds the same as other connecting terminals of the digital camera, which others are connected to connecting terminals provided at the cradle.

DSC 60 collects operation information representing an operation state of DSC 60, (for example, a total number of times that photographing is carried out, numbers of uses of each of various kinds of photographing modes, and a number of uses of a flash) and the collected information is recorded in a recording medium 58. The operation information is read out from the recording medium 58 when a customer requests a DPE-request accepting shop 12 for photographic processing, transferred to a data center 16 through a communication network 50, and stored in a photograph-related information DB 48. A camera manufacturer 18 regularly receives from a data center 16 operation information corresponding to DSC which is manufactured by the camera manufacturer 18. The received operation information is tabulated for each model of DSC for analysis and used for improvement of DSC and development of a next generation model of DSC.

A method and system for processing and transmitting digital information between two locations is disclosed as applied to a warranty claim processing system and method. The system comprises of a remote computer 132 that is locally connected to a digital camera 134 and barcode scanner 180 and is remotely connected via a communication network 106 to a server computer 108. Data is passed between the two computers 132, 108 via the communication network 106 to illustrate the nature of the problem, identify the item on which the problem exists and confirm whether or not a warranty claim is accepted.

A system and method of recording information on a recordable optical disc to provide a multimedia enabled disc. The method comprises the steps of selecting a plurality of digital still images, selecting at least one audio clip, encoding the plurality of digital still images and the audio clip as a single MPEG bitstream, encoding each of the plurality of digital still images as a digital image file; and recording the single MPEG bitstream and the plurality of digital image files on the recordable optical disc.
