Abstract:
The invention relates to an image processing apparatus which has a coding function of image data and inputs and outputs an image and a method for such an apparatus, and has an object to simultaneously perform coding of the image data in parallel in both a CPU and a coder/decoder. A system bus bridge (SBB) is a multichannel bidirectional bus bridge and provides a mutual connection between a B bus (I/O bus), a G bus (graphic bus), an SC bus (processor bus), and an MC bus (local bus) by using a crossbar switch. The connections of two systems can be simultaneously established by the crossbar switch. A high speed data transfer of high parallel performance can be realized among a CPU core, a CODEC, and a DRAM.
Abstract:
Scanner apparatus may comprise a housing having a front side with an opening therein, a back side with an opening therein and a scanning device mounted within the housing. A transparent platen mounted within the opening in the front side of the housing allows an object positioned adjacent the scanning device so that the object may be thereafter scanned. A transparent window mounted within the opening in the back side of the housing allows a user to view at least a portion the object positioned adjacent the transparent platen.
Abstract:
In an electronic imaging apparatus, image information of an image signal photoelectrically converted from an image incident is stored in image information storing means in a format dependent upon a type of the applied storage device. Provided therein are communication means for transmitting and/or receiving image information generated in this apparatus or the other equivalent apparatuses while an operation mode of the apparatus is set for communication and switch means for causing the communication means to start a communication mode operation.
Abstract:
An imaging and recording apparatus for electrically recording an optical image of a subject as an image information signal which facilitates memory access from an external device and prevents image information from being changed. Upon manipulation of a recording trigger switch, an image outputted from a camera signal processing circuit at that time is written into a semiconductor memory, then subjected to data compression in a data compression circuit, and stored in a semiconductor memory. It is now assumed that an external device not illustrated is connected to a connector and this external device orders taking in the image of the semiconductor memory. If at this time the semiconductor memory is writing an image, a state detection circuit detects the fact and inhibits the external device from taking in the image. Furthermore, while the external device is taking in the image of the semiconductor memory, the state detection circuit detects this fact. Even if the recording trigger switch is manipulated, an AND gate turns off in response to an output of the state detection circuit and inhibits image writing into the semiconductor memory.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus comprising: a spatial communication circuit having a transmission part and a reception part; and a detection part for detecting the separate positional state from a communication partner apparatus. The communication method by the spatial communication circuit is switched according to the detection result of the detection part.

Abstract:
The time required for transmission of image data from an electronic camera to a host computer is shortened. Image data representing the image of a subject imaged in the electronic camera is stored in an image memory. When a preview-image command is applied to the electronic camera from the host computer, the image data that has been stored in the image memory is reduced to 1/8 by eliminating pixels in a thinning-out circuit. The reduced-image data is transmitted to the host computer, where the data is displayed on a display unit as a preview image. A desired area and magnification (resolution) are designated on the preview image and then a get command is applied, whereupon main image data in the designated area and having the designated magnification is transmitted from the electronic camera to the host computer.
Abstract:
An electronic still camera has a photographing device for photographing a photographed object and outputting interlaced image data; an image data encoder for encoding the image data; an image recorder for recording the coded image data to a recording medium; a sound converter for converting a sound to an electric signal; a sound data encoder for encoding sound data converted to the electric signal; a sound recorder for recording the coded sound data to the recording medium; an image data reader for reading the coded image data from the recording medium; an image decoder for decoding the read image data; a sound data reader for reading the coded sound data from the recording medium; a sound decoder for decoding the read sound data; and a controller for displaying only a first or second field image when a still image is regenerated during regeneration of a continuous image. A central processing unit (CPU) continuously regenerates only the first (odd) or second (even) field image when the still image is regenerated during the continuous image regeneration so as to prevent moving image portions of the first and second field images from being blurred.
Abstract:
A portraiture printer system receives portrait film which carries portrait images provided by a portraiture camera. A frame grabber receives portrait images carried on the film and converts them into digitized images. An edit station processes the digitized images. The edit station manipulates the sequence of the images and their composition. A printer receives the digitized images and prints the digitized images on an image recording medium.
Abstract:
This is a film image input system wherein an image of the developed still photo film is made to focus on an image sensing plane of a charge coupled device through a taking lens to be converted into electric signals and the electric signals are input in a video monitor. The film image input system comprises: a zoom driving part for changing the image magnification of the taking lens; a scan mechanism for moving an image taking position on the film by the taking lens; and a control part for controlling the scan mechanism in such a manner that the moving speed of the scan mechanism is decreased with the increase in the image magnification of the taking lens and making the moving speed of a screen on the video monitor constant during scan. Furthermore, the control part can restrict the scan scope of the scan mechanism in accordance with the image magnification, satisfactorily display the scope being picked up at present on a display device, and return the scan position to the center of the film and return the image magnification to a predetermined standard magnification so that the film image in the whole frame can occupy the whole screen of the video monitor, upon receiving the standard reproduction command.
