An optical scanner includes an optical housing, which houses a light source, an aperture stop, a condensing lens and a rotary deflector, light from the light source entering into the rotary deflector via the aperture stop and the condensing lens, and the light deflected by the rotary deflector scanning a target to be irradiated, a fastener, which fastens the condensing lens to the optical housing, and a fastener attachment portion to which the fastener is attached, the fastener attachment portion being disposed in a downstream side of the condensing lens in a traveling direction of the light in the housing.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner having a configuration capable of stably retaining an attitude while suppressing rotational oscillation of a mirror generated by oscillation when driving the scanner, without bonding the mirror thereto.SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: reflective members 106, 108, and 109 each for reflecting light beam towards a scanning object body, the light beam being deflected by deflection means 104 for deflecting and scanning the light beam exited from a light source; a contact member 200 for coming into contact with the rear plane side of a reflective plane for positioning the reflective plane of the reflective member 106, 108, and 109 or the rear plane of the reflective plane; and an optical box for storing the reflective members. The optical scanner uses a plane pressing portion 201A that presses the reflective plane of the reflective member or the rear plane side of the reflective plane, and further uses pressing members 201 and 202 provided with a ridge pressing portion 202A that presses a ridge between the lateral plane orthogonal to the reflective plane and the reflective plane, or a ridge L1 between the lateral planes orthogonal to the reflective plane.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which the length of a unit in the advance direction of light is made compact while keeping an optical path length from a focusing lens to an object to be irradiated with light, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A fixing member mounting face 702 being a fixing member mounting part is provided at the downstream side of a cylindrical lens 403 being a focusing lens in the advance direction of light, thus the cylindrical lens 403 can be more closely arranged to an aperture 106 side than an example in which the fixing member mounting face 702 is provided at the upstream side of the cylindrical lens 403 in the advance direction of light. Thus, the optical path length from a photoreceptor to a polygon scanner is made short while keeping the shape of the beam spot diameter of write-in light and light quantity on the photoreceptor. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner for properly reading an original without enlarging an upper cover, etc. SOLUTION: A CIS 11 is supported by a grip part 41 and a support axis 31, so as to be movable in a direction toward the upper cover 19 (rib 21), and biased in the direction of the rib 21 by a compression spring 17. Accordingly, there is no necessity to make the rib 21 movable, to secure a space for the movement of the rib 21, and to arrange a mechanism for moving the rib 21 in the upper cover 19.
