Abstract:
An information processing apparatus having first and second cases (13a, 13b) that are openably/closably connected, and includes an imaging section (6) provided in the second case and opposed to the first case where a read target medium is placed, a detection section (1) which detects that the first and second cases have been closed into a predetermined state by plural types of methods, an acquisition section (1) which acquires a photographed image from the imaging section when the detection section detects that the first and second cases have been closed into the predetermined state by the plural types of methods, a correction section (1) which performs distortion correction processing on the photographed image acquired by the acquisition section, based on a closing state between the first and second cases detected by the detection section, and a storing section (3) which stores the photographed image corrected by the correction section.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a light source, an imaging element and a control unit. The light source irradiates light on a document. The irradiated light of the light source reflected by the document is incident on the imaging element. The control unit is configured to, if the document is an ordinary document having no light-emitting screen, set a light amount of the irradiated light of the light source at a predetermined reference value and is configured to, if the document is a special document having a light-emitting screen, reduce the light amount of the irradiated light of the light source to become lower than the reference value.
Abstract:
Provided is a system for transmitting a handwriting animation message including a transmitting mobile terminal for transmitting the handwriting animation message including coordinate information and time information of one or more points forming handwriting information which is input by a user of a transmitting mobile terminal, an animation messaging server for, upon receiving the handwriting animation message, transcoding the handwriting animation message into a format supported by the receiving mobile terminal and transmitting the transcoded handwriting animation message, and the receiving mobile terminal for receiving the transcoded handwriting animation message.
Abstract:
A method for obtaining an image of an actively lit medium (ALM) using a capture device and an illumination source, including: calibrating the capture device for dark signal non-uniformity (DSNU); determining a final exposure value and a final gain value by executing at least one scan of the ALM using the capture device with the illumination source extinguished; and generating the image by scanning, with the illumination source extinguished, the ALM using the capture device set to the final exposure value and the final gain value.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an image forming device that forms visible images by scanning in a first scan direction and a slow scan direction that is perpendicular to the first scan direction, image data that are arranged in the first scan direction and the slow scan direction. The image data include actual latent image lines formed from actual data, and artificial latent image lines formed using the actual data. The image forming device has a data storage unit that stores the image data so that the total number of scan lines in the image data from one end to the other end in the slow scan direction is an odd number.
Abstract:
A writing medium includes a board surface on which drawing is executed. A reader reads a drawing object drawn on the writing medium. A power supply switch is located at a front side of an electronic blackboard to execute an on/off operation of the electronic blackboard. A data port is located right above the power supply switch to output the read drawing data to a removable exterior storage medium.
Abstract:
In order to facilitate printing of an image drawn on an electronic board while improving security, an MFP includes a portion to generate conference identification information in response to reception of a start instruction from an electronic board, a portion to associate the conference identification information with device identification information for the electronic board, a portion to associate image data received from the electronic board with conference identification information lastly associated with the device identification information for the electronic board, a portion to associate user identification information received from the electronic board with conference identification information lastly associated with the device identification information for the electronic board, a portion to authenticate a user, a portion to extract conference identification information associated with the user identification information for the authenticated user, a portion to extract image data associated with the conference identification information, and a portion to output the image data.
Abstract:
A display device includes a housing that includes at least a front surface and a rear surface, a display screen that displays information on the front surface of the housing, and an identification mark that is provided on a surface other than the front surface and that indicates a position of the display screen on the front surface.
Abstract:
A whiteboard view camera, which in one embodiment is mounted on a boom, which is fixed above the whiteboard. However, the whiteboard view camera can also be wall or table mounted. The whiteboard view camera differs from an ordinary camera by allowing the lens to tilt with respect to the sensor plane, and shift with respect to the central ray. When the tilt angle α is zero, then the resolution of whiteboard is uniform (e.g., the top and bottom of the whiteboard have the same resolution). In addition, the focus plane is equal to the whiteboard plane, so depth of field issues are not a problem (e.g., a large aperture can be used). Hence, no image noise is introduced. A key contribution of the whiteboard view camera configuration according to the invention is the use of a view camera to capture whiteboard images at uniform resolutions. One embodiment of the whiteboard view camera employs a microphone array of the invention and uses a computer to optimize the image data and audio signals.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for receiving document images including portions linked to one or more electronic addresses. The linked portion of the document is identified using a predetermined visual attribute, such as bold-face text, or delimiters to mark the portion. The document image is then transmitted using, e.g., existing apparatus for transmitting images, such as a facsimile machine. An electronic address associated with the identified portion of the document is also transmitted using existing techniques, such as by touch-tone telephone. The address may be a voice telephone number, facsimile telephone number. World Wide Web address or any other address with which communication can be established. At the receiving end, both the document image and electronic address are received. Pattern matching is performed on the document image to identify the portion with the predetermined attribute as a linked portion. The received electronic address is then correlated with the linked portion. When the document image is displayed on, e.g., a computer screen, the linked portion is visually identified so that the recipient can access the electronic address by, e.g., clicking on the portion using a mouse. Communication may then be initiated by the recipient with the entity associated with the electronic address.
