Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a scanner and an ADF. The scanner includes a housing having an upper surface which is formed of a document table glass and a through-read glass. The housing contains first and second carriages which can slide along rails. In a through-read mode, the first carriage is moved to a reading position below the through-read glass, and the case of the first carriage is magnetically held by a fixing mechanism, and the first carriage is fixed at a reading position. A vibration-absorbing member is interposed between the fixing mechanism and the case.
Abstract:
The invention is a scan device with elastic reserve type and its scan method, mainly applied to the light, thin, short and small scanner, image recorder, etc. The invention includes a guide bar, a chassis, a gear structure, an elastic module, a fastening structure and a sensor device, wherein, a scan module is on the chassis, the gear structure is consisting of at least one gear, the fastening structure is consisting of at least two fasteners and the sensor device is consisting of at least two sensors with one objective. To use the elasticity with the feature of reserving ability and the fastening structure is to move the chassis for scanning. The scanning motion of start and stop is via the sensor device. For combining the function of the above each part, most of them take traditionally mechanical transmission except that scan module is electrical power.
Abstract:
An elastic fixing screw valve body is provided on a wall of a frame of an image-reading apparatus. The valve body allows a carriage fixing screw to be passed through the through-hole in the wall and the valve body when the image-reading device is prepared for transport to a new location so as to secure one or more carriages within the frame to the wall. The valve body also allows the carriage fixing screw to be removed when the image-reading device is prepared for normal scanning operation after being transported to the new location. In addition, the valve body acts to seal the interior space of the frame from invasion by dust via the through-hole when the carriage fixing screw is removed from the through-hole and normal scanning operation of the image-reading apparatus is resumed at the new location.
Abstract:
A locking device for locking a movable module of an electronic apparatus disclosed by the invention mainly includes a control member and a latch connected to the control member. The control member is selectively movable between a first position for locking the movable module and a second position for releasing the movable module. When the latch stops at the first position, it also latches onto an operational interface or a mechanism component so as to prevent the user from electrically or mechanically operating the apparatus.
Abstract:
A scanner unit has first and second carriages located below a glass document table. The first carriage has a first frame extending from a front side to a rear side along the document table, i.e. in a main scanning direction. The scanner unit contains, at the front side and the rear side, two rails that support the opposite ends of the first frame such that the first frame can slide in a sub-scanning direction. The scanner unit also contains, at the front side and the rear side, inhibiting elements for receiving a part of the first frame when the first carriage has slid along the rail to a hold position, thereby inhibiting the movement of the first carriage in the main scanning direction, and also for holding another part of the frame together with the rail when the carriage has slid to the hold position, thereby inhibiting the vertically upward movement of the frame.
Abstract:
A reading unit for an image reading device includes a lens tube for forming an image of an object and a line sensor for converting the formed image into an electrical signal. A reducing/magnifying mechanism is included for changing the magnification of the image detected by the line sensor. The lens tube is movable such that the optical path length between the lens tube and the line sensor is adjustable to thereby vary magnification of the image. Further, in response to the movement of the lens tube, a movable mirror is adjusted. The mirror is set in a first predetermined position and directs reflected light from the object to the lens tube to shorten the optical path length between the object and the lens tube and thus relatively increase magnification, in response to the lens tube being in a predetermined normal position with a relatively long optical path length between the lens tube and the line sensor. Then, the mirror is set in a second predetermined position and does not direct reflected light from the object to the lens tube to lengthen the optical path between the object and the lens tube and thus relatively decrease magnification, in response to the lens tube being in a predetermined reducing position with a relatively short optical path length between the lens tube and the line sensor. Movement of both the movable mirror and the lens tube are therefore linked together and are each displaced between predetermined positions so as to vary magnification of the image and to prevent distortion in the image read by the line sensor.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reading apparatus surely unlocking a read sensor without enlarging the apparatus when locking the read sensor in transporting the apparatus. SOLUTION: The document reading apparatus includes a document platen on which a document is placed, a document pressing part which is arranged on the document platen to be opened and closed, a read sensor which is movably arranged in an apparatus body and configured to read an image of the document placed on the document platen, and a restriction means configured to engage with the read sensor to restrict the movement of the reading sensor. When the read sensor and the restriction means are engaged with each other during transportation, the read sensor is disengaged from the restriction means by opening the document pressing part from the document platen, and thereafter the read sensor and the restriction means are not engaged with each other even if the document pressing part is closed.
