Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image reader having a first reference member for determining a reading reference position in main scanning direction and sub-scanning direction of a document. SOLUTION: The image reader includes a frame 39. An edge of the frame 39 extends along the main scanning direction of the document and comes into contact with the sub-scanning direction between a first transparent member 31 at a fixed reading section and a second transparent member 32 at a conveying/reading section. In a document-placing area of the first transparent member 31, one intersection near the frame 39 between the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction is set as a reference point 40 for aligning the corner of the document. In a non-document playcing area 42, a first reference member 43 is arranged on a diagonal position farthest from the reference point 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for changing a calibration of a recording apparatus (10) to adjust for geometric distortion comprising: providing a media support (12) for receiving recording media (17); operating a recording head (16) comprising a plurality of individually addressable recording channels (23) to form at least one image feature on the recording media while the recording media is positioned with a first orientation (50A) on the media support; positioning the recording media with a second orientation (50B) on the media support, wherein the second orientation is different from the first orientation; detecting distortion in the at least one image feature while the recording media is positioned with the second orientation on the media support; and adjusting activation timing of a portion of the recording channels in accordance with the detected distortion.
Abstract:
A color registration-pattern formed between continuous printing pages with different magnifications is read so as to correct color misalignment by converting the magnification into the reference magnification so as to calculate the present color misalignment correction. Thereby, a plurality of the color registration-patterns with different magnifications, which are formed between continuous printing pages with differentiated magnifications by the speed change of a polygon-mirror motor can be read so as to correct the color misalignment.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, an image forming apparatus: forms, on both sides of a reference chart sheet 10, reference positioning images which are determined in advance relative to reference positions on both sides of the reference chart sheet 10; reads reference images through the image readable area from a plurality of parts on both sides of the reference chart sheet 10 or from the folded reference chart sheet 10; and adjusts image forming positions on both sides of a paper according to read-out information obtained from the reference images. The image forming positions are corrected on both sides of the paper which is greater in size than the image readable area of the image reader 11 by reading the images from multiple parts of the reference chart sheet 10 or from the folded reference chart sheet 10.
Abstract:
A start of plot mark consists of three portions, a first, second and third portion each of equal area with the first and second portions being above a reference line and spaced from each other by the second portion which is below the reference line. The first and second portions are used to generate a reference signal for use in measuring the zero crossing of the output signal from the start of plot mark thereby to automatically compensate for uncertainties in the zero crossing such as those uncertainties produced by differences in intensities of the start of plot coloration versus the background coloration of the print medium, differences in reflectivity and illumination of the print medium, and imbalances between sensor output signals.
Abstract:
There is provided a multiimage forming apparatus for forming image data onto photo sensitive drums by an electrophotographic system. This apparatus comprises: an image forming circuit to form different images onto the photo sensitive drums; a transfer device to transfer the images on the drums onto the same transfer paper; a conveying belt to convey the transfer paper; a control circuit to control the image forming circuit so as to form registration marks to match the positions of the images onto the drums; CCD detectors to detect the recording positions of the marks; and a correcting circuit to correct at least two of the positional direction in the conveying direction of the belt, the positional deviation in the direction perpendicular to the belt conveying direction, the magnification of the image, and the inclination of the image on the basis of the detection outputs of the detectors. With this apparatus, the positional deviations of the images which occur during the image formation can be accurately corrected, so that the images can be accurately formed on the transfer paper by reading and matching the position matching registration marks.
