Abstract: A zeolite material obtained by modifying a crystalline aluminosilicate having the following empirical formula: xM2O.yM'O.Al2O3.zSiO2.nH2O wherein M is an exchangeable cation selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, hydrogen and mixtures thereof, M' is an alkaline earth metal, x is between 0 and 1.5, y is between 0.2 and 40, z is between 50 and 3000 and n is between 0 and 40 and wherein x+y is at least 1.2, with an alkaline earth metal compound. The modifying may be by impregnation or by mere mixing. The zeolite material is useful as catalyst for converting methanol and/or dimethyl ether into lower olefins.

Abstract: A method for preventing bleeding of plasticizers on the surface of shaped articles of plasticized polyvinyl chloride resins. The method comprises the steps of (a) blending a urethane elastomer with the polyvinyl chloride resin together with the plasticizer and other optional additives prior to fabrication of the polyvinyl chloride resin composition into shaped articles, (b) fabricating the resin composition into desired shaped articles, and (c) subjecting the thus shaped article to a treatment with low temperature plasma of a gas. Carbon monoxide is preferred as the gas for the plasma atmosphere.

Abstract: In the inventive method, shaped articles of a plasticized polyvinyl chloride resin are subjected to the surface treatment by with low temperature plasma so that the undesirable phenomenon of bleeding of the plasticizer on the surface can be effectively prevented when the plasticizer for plasticizing the resin is a compound having at least one aromatic nucleus in a molecule or a combination of two or more of plasticizers including 10% by weight or more of a plasticizer which is a compound having at least one aromatic nucleus in a molecule.

Abstract: An apparatus for effectively making the supply of material slurry at a high pressure into a high-pressure liquefaction reaction vessel and relief of the pressure of the high-pressure product slurry to permit the discharge of the product slurry as a low-pressure slurry. At least one cylinder having a float therein is used. The material slurry is charged at a low pressure into the cylinder from one end of the latter. Then, the high-pressure product slurry after the reaction is charged from the other end of this cylinder or another cylinder so that the material slurry is pressurized and forcibly supplied to the reaction vessel by the high pressure possessed by the high-pressure product slurry. On the other hand, the high-pressure product slurry, which has been relieved from the high pressure, is forced out of the system at a low pressure as a next batch of material slurry is charged into the cylinder from the above-mentioned one end of the cylinder, so that the product slurry is collected as a low-pressure slurry.
