Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printing method reducing two-way color tone changes without reducing a throughput and requiring excess cost and complexity during a printing process, and an inkjet printing method having reduced ink consumption amount.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a radiation-curable inkjet black ink containing one kind of black pigment, at least one kind of color pigment, and at least one kind of radiation-curable compound. There are also disclosed an inkjet ink set containing a radiation-curable inkjet black ink and a printing method using the inkjet ink set. Image quality defects by remarkable color variations in an adjacent print patch of two-way printing are removed and the reduced ink consumption amount is observed.

An inkjet ink includes a) an aqueous medium; and b) capsules composed of a polymeric shell surrounding a core; wherein the capsules are dispersed in the aqueous medium using a dispersing group covalently bonded to the polymeric shell; wherein the core contains a photoinitiator and one or more chemical reactants capable of forming a reaction product upon application of UV light; wherein the capsules have an average particle size of no more than 4 μm as determined by dynamic laser diffraction; and wherein the photoinitiator is a diffusion hindered photoinitiator selected from the group consisting of multifunctional photoinitiators, oligomeric photoinitiators, polymeric photoinitiators and polymerizable photoinitiators.
Abstract:
A radiation curable composition including at least one organic silver salt, at least one reducing agent for the organic silver salt, and a polymerizable composition of at least one polymerizable compound, wherein the radiation curable composition is a radiation curable inkjet ink containing at least 50 wt % of a monofunctional polymerizable compound based on the total weight of the polymerizable composition. The radiation curable composition is especially useful for generating black UV light blocking borders in laminated safety glass for automotive applications.
Abstract:
An inkjet printing method, performed by an industrial inkjet system to form a decoration layer, includes the steps of, printing copies of a decorative image with a printing unit on a substrate by transmitting consecutive bitmap rows of the decorative image to a printing unit, measuring dimensional changes in the substrate while printing copies of the decorative image, and compensating the dimensional changes while printing copies of the decorative image by one of: skipping at least one bitmap row of the decorative image upon dimensional expansion, or reprinting at least one bitmap row of the decorative image on the substrate upon dimensional shrink.
