Abstract:
A method includes receiving audio electronic business card data during a conference; comparing said audio electronic business card data with voices of conference speakers to confirm identities of said speakers; performing an acoustic triangulation to determine a position of speakers; correlating a position of said speakers with said identities; and displaying locations of said speakers.
Abstract:
A system including a conferencing telephone coupled to or in communication with an identification service (111). The identification service (111) is configured to poll user devices of conference participants to determine or confirm identities. In response, the user devices transmit audio electronic business cards, which can include user voice samples and/or preprocessed voice recognition data. The identification service (111) stores the resulting audio electronic business card data. When the corresponding participant speaks during the conference, the identification service (111) identifies the speaker.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system includes a wireless network; a telephony client (204) operably coupled to the network; and an indication device (110) operably coupled to the network and configured to receive an audio file from the telephony client indicative of an incoming telephone call. In certain embodiments, the audio file comprises calling party identification information. In some embodiments, the system includes a calling party identification control unit and a text to speech engine, wherein said audio file comprises speech-converted calling party identification information.
Abstract:
Embodiments provide a system, method, apparatus, means, and computer program code that allow multiple annotations to a document to be created and that distinguish between the annotations made by different people. The people may view documents (380, 400, 420), exchange ideas and messages, etc. via a server or conference/collaboration system at different times and/or without being in direct communication with each other. In such an off-line collaboration mode, the people may want to add listen to, view, or add annotations regarding one or more documents (380, 400, 420). The methods and systems described herein allow users to follow the trail of annotations regarding a document (380, 400, 420) and to distinguish between the voice or other audible annotations created by other people
Abstract:
A system for Instant Messaging based control of the digital personal video stream manager (102), for example, to program a video recording device (114). The system includes a personal computer (110) having an Instant Messaging client (2202) and equipping the Instant Messaging client with a DPVSM control plug in (2204). The DPVSM control plug in (2204) is adapted to identify a special DPVSM control Instant Message (2301) which is then translated by the DPVSM control program (312). The digital personal video stream manager (102) then activates at the appropriate time to record the program
Abstract:
An electronic business card is provided with voice data associated with the card owner. In some embodiments, the voice data is a digitized voice sample; in other embodiments, the voice data is a selection of pre-processed voice recognition data associated with a voice sample. In some implementations, the electronic business card can be transferred to other parties using a Bluetooth personal network. A user application can then make use of the voice sample or pre-processed voice recognition data for security or user identification.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system includes a network (222); a plurality of user devices (106, 108, 110, 112) operably coupled to said network (222) and including a microphone (824) and a speaker (826); a ccollaboration server (101) configured to cause a playing of one or more test tones at said plurality of user devices (106, 108, 110, 112) and compensate for feedback if said test tones are detected by microphones (824) associated with said plurality of user devices (106, 108, 110, 112).
Abstract:
Embodiments may provide a computer network (20), a telephone (30) coupled to the computer network, and a computing device (10) coupled to the computer network, the computing device to establish a telephone call with the telephone. The telephone (30) may comprise a base station to receive a telephone line, a telephone handset (95) to communicated with the base station, and a second telephone handset (100) to communicate with the base station. The computing device may establish the telephone call with the first telephone handset and a second telephone call with second telephone nahdset.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a telephone (30) comprising an interface port (75) to receive a computer network interface device (70). The telephone (30) may comprise means to encapsulated telephone call signals in accordance with a computer network protocol to be transmitted to the computer network interface device (70). The telephone (30) may also comprise means to decapsulate encapsulated telephone call signals to generate telephone call signals.
Abstract:
A multimedia telecommunications system including and controlled by a wireless local area network remote control device (1300) to control a digital personal video stream manager (102) from anywhere in the house. The wireless remote (1300) may be provided with an LCD screen (1308), an 802.11 interface (1502), and an IP telephony interface (1302). The LCD screen (1308) provides the user with a graphical interface that allows a user to interact with the digital personal video stream manager (102) in a manner similar to that employed when using the personal computer (110). In addition, the IP telephony interface (1302) allows the user to make and receive IP telephone calls, such as Internet telephone calls. In such an embodiment, the personal computer (110) may implement an IP telephone gateway.
