Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound attenuating material expressing excellent sound attenuating characteristics, as well as being light and inexpensive. SOLUTION: A sound attenuating laminate and a method for making the same are provided. The method is to apply heat to the surface of a nonwoven fibrous material layer 12 and form a portion 14 of a molten fiber layer having a density larger than that of the rest of the fibrous material layer 12, wherein the portion 14 of the molten fiber layer effectively acts to attenuate noises transversing the fibrous material layer 10, adhere an interior decoration material 16 like a carpet to the heated surface of the fibrous material layer 10, subsequently, apply a compression forming pressure to the fibrous material layer 10 and the interior decoration material 16 to obtain a predetermined form. The attenuating characteristics of the fibrous material layer 10 are further controlled by selectively changing the density of each portion of the fibrous material layer 10 by applying the compression forming pressure. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting circuit having no variation of a voltage level for driving a light emitting diode in a vanity lighting mirror. SOLUTION: A visor body 202 includes a visor mirror 429, a light source, a switch, a regulator circuit and a timer. The switch causes an energy source that is independent of an electrical system of a vehicle to generate a first voltage signal. The regulator circuit is operatively coupled to the switch and to the energy source for transmitting a second voltage signal in response to the first voltage signal, so that the light source receives the second voltage signal. The timer is powered by the energy source for causing the regulator circuit to disable the operation of transmitting the second voltage signal in response to the timer achieving a predetermined count value. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soybean based polyurethane foam which can satisfies a strict specification request for use in the autoindustry. SOLUTION: An interior panel member for use in a vehicle includes a shell layer 26 and an elastic layer 24 fixed to the shell. The elastic layer 24 is produced from a polymer MDI, a pure MDI, and a polyol. The polyol is a soybean based polyol which contains less than 50 pts. per 100 pts. of resin. The elastic layer is fixed to a supporting layer 20 to form the interior panel member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound attenuating composite article for use within a vehicle, formed from lightweight and inexpensive sound attenuating materials. SOLUTION: The sound attenuating composite article 10 for use within the vehicle as floor covering and other interior trim components is provided. The sound attenuating composite article 10 includes a damping layer 12, a decoupler layer 14, a scrim/web layer 16, and a porous upholstery material 18 sandwiched together. The damping layer 12 has a thickness of about 5 mm and is configured to be attached to the surface 30a of the panel 30 of the vehicle in face-to-face contacting relationship therewith. The decoupler layer 14 has a thickness of about 70 mm and is attached to the surface of the damping layer 12 in face-to-face contacting relationship. The scrim/web layer 16 has a thickness equal to or less than about 2 mm. The porous upholstery material 18 is attached to the surface of the scrim/web layer 16 in face-to-face contacting relationship therewith. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slush moldable polymer composition applicable to a leather part of a seamless type air bag door and a process for production the same. SOLUTION: The slush moldable polymer composition 10 is applicable to the leather part of the seamless type air bag door and the process for production of the same includes at least one embodiment wherein the composition includes 35-60 wt.% of a first PVC resin, 30-50 wt.% of a linear chain trimellitate plasticizer and 1-20 wt.% of an adipic acid ester plasticizer, and the composition is fused to become processable and conveniently acts at low and high temperatures with little release of VOC and additionally has a low odor grade. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slush moldable polymeric composition which functions excellently at a low-temperature airbag test and has desired haptics. SOLUTION: The polymeric composition comprises (a) 50-99 wt.% urethane elastomer, (b) 0.1-15 wt.% propylene copolymer, (c) 0.1-25 wt.% olefin-modified thermoplastic, and (d) 0.1-30 wt.% olefin block copolymer and is slush moldable and vacuum formable. A modifying agent includes an olefin block copolymer (OBC) having a variable distribution of the block length. The OBC is present in the amount of 0.1-30% of the total composition. The haptics of the polymeric composition is tunable by adjusting the amount of the modifying agent to be added. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel visor vanity overcoming drawbacks in the conventional ones. SOLUTION: A visor vanity for use in a vehicle includes a vanity mirror, a light source for providing illumination to the user of the mirror or for other purposes, an energy source independent of the vehicle's electrical system for energizing the light source, a switch for causing light source to be energized by the independent power source or de-energized, and a timer for de-energizing the light source after a certain time period has passed so as to minimize depletion of the independent energy source. The light source may comprise one or more LEDs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new innerspring assembly, especially for use in a mattress and in which the degree of freedom or mobility of springs is incorporated well to attain the "floating" or flexibility of springs at its end portions while providing conventional junction between adjacent springs, for example, by use of cross spiral connection. SOLUTION: The inner spring assembly (10) such as for use in the mattress comprises a plurality of coil springs (12) having upper and lower terminal convolutions (22) and (24) and body portions between them. Adjacent coil springs (12) are connected to one another at its body portions but are not at the terminal convolutions (22, 24), so that the terminal convolutions (22, 24) can move independently of one another.
