Un tel dispositif a pour avantage que toute végétation plantée dans le compartiment de culture se trouve donc alimentée en permanence en eau et en fertilisants grâce aux échanges avec le compartiment de compostage lorsqu'il contient du compost. L'écosystème ainsi constitué confère au dispositif une grande résilience face aux perturbations extérieures. L'invention comprend aussi des moyens de retirer, de manière progressive et contrôlée, les couches inférieures du compartiment de compostage, des moyens de drainage des liquides et des moyens d'évacuer le compost.

Abstract: A cosmetics container comprises a casing 100 having a well 101 capable of holding a mixing medium, such as a liquid, and a well 102, capable of containing a cosmetic, such as a powder. A lid 103 is moveable between an open and a closed position with respect to the casing. The mixing medium well 101 preferably contains a synthetic sponge or similar absorbent material, which may be affixed to the well. The cosmetic well 102 may be arranged above the mixing medium well 101, and they may be attached together by means of a screw thread. A sponge saturated with a water based solution held in the mixing medium well may be used when applying a powdered cosmetic such as eye shadow. The user will mix the powder with the solution to achieve a better cosmetic effect.

Abstract: A number plate assembly provides for convenient attachment and detachment of a number plate on the back of a vehicle trailer. A steel backing plate (4) is adapted to be bolted to standard fixing holes on the back of a trailer. A detachable number plate, consisting of a conventional plastic display sheet (1) bonded to a flexible magnetic sheet on its rear face, is easily attached against the flat surface presented by the backing plate. A projecting ledge (8) extends along the bottom edge of the backing plate. The bottom edge of the number plate resets on this, so that it will not shake out of place under vibration.

Abstract: A heat recovery system for heating water comprises one or more heat exchangers 9 for heating water by exchange with waste heat. A storage reservoir 11 stores the water heated by the heat exchanger(s). The heat exchangers(s) is/are switchable between a first mode of operation in which water is circulated by a pump 12 in a circuit including the storage reservoir and the heat exchanger(s), and a second mode of operation in which water is circulated by the pump in a circuit that by-passes the heat exchanger(s). The water is heated to at least a minimum temperature and supplied to at least one outlet in both the first and second modes of operation. Waste heat may be from a refrigeration system. Switching between modes of operation may depend on water level and temperature of water in the reservoir. The pump may run continuously in both modes. Heat recovery may be from a dairy plant and the heated water used in a wash rinse process without supplementary heating of the water. Other uses include hot water in breweries, wineries, cheese plants, meat and other food processing plants, hospitals, hotels and swimming pools.
