Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid filtering device which is used in connection with a gas analyzer having such structure that the interference with gas streams is limited therein. SOLUTION: This fluid filtering device for separating liquid from gases to be analyzed is provided with a tubular housing 2 defining a space 4 and filter elements 18 disposed in the tubular housing 2. The tubular housing 2 is provided with an inlet end part 6 and an outlet end part 8 which delimit fluid passages 10, 12 in fluid communication state with the space 4, and are connectable between a source of the fluid and a gas analyzer. The filter elements 18 consist of hydrophobic hollow fiber filter elements which prevent materials other than the gases from passing therethrough. The tubular housing 2 and the filter elements 18 form a small volume within the tubular housing, and the fluid filtering device is operable independently in the arranging direction or the field of gravitation.

Abstract: A source of IR radiation for use with a gas analyzer comprises a sealed-off enclosure (4) containing at least one molecular, IR-active gas which, upon excitation, is capable of emitting IR-radiation of a known, discrete spectral distribution. The excitation is effected by electrical discharges taking place in a limited portion (32) only of the sealed-off enclosure (4), the rest of the enclosure serving as reservoir (34) of the gas. The electrodes (20) producing the discharges are disposed outside of the enclosure (4). A gas analyzer (2,4,6,8,10,12) incorporating the source is also described.
